Team Zissou Shoes - New "source"

Recently Adidas added Samba's to their customizable shoe service known as MiAdidas. What does this mean for Life Aquatic fans?

Probably the closest we will ever come to seeing "official" Zissou shoes.

Granted they are not the ever increasingly hard to find Roms like the shoes in the movie, and the colors are not perfect, but I don't think they look bad. Unlike fan made shoes that have a painted center stripe, you wouldn't have to worry about paint rubbing off of these.

I remember that when the movie came out, the films site was selling "official" shoes from the movie. However, I don't know who actually owns them.

(not my pic)

I managed to find a licensed pair on sale at a local shop. Which was impressive considering I wear a size 14. Very comfortable shoes.

I wouldn't call them licensed, they are modified stock Italias by a guy named Ken Harman. That being said, there are/were some of the nicest replicas I have seen, right down to the custom sticker on the box. I'm not sure if he makes them anymore sadly.

And while we are showing off shoes, this is my pair of original 1970's Roms I modified before I wore them to death. I really should have just kept them in the box :cry

I have a pair of the Ken Harman Shoes. They are very very good, the box is amaizing too.

Im playing with the custom shop but I dont know if I will get a pair or not. I need the rest of the costume.

I offer same style as Ken for a lot less than his typically go for. PM for details as this is not a JUNKYARD thread.

The suede IS white -- nice job. How long did it take you to get these in? I ordered a pair a week ago but with the TAN suede, so I will likely put them on ebay so I can redorder with white.

THANKS for posting pics.

Those look great! The blues in general are a tad darker than the flash site let on, but not bad.

I went with the tan suede in my pic above thinking it would emulate the tan front rubber "toe" on the Roms, but now seeing the suede in white I see that's the way to go for sure. Thanks!

The color for my camera isn't 100% correct. Regardless, they are genuine Adidas and entirely made by Adidas. Not a repaint selling for as much as $180 on ebay. :)

Sorry to bump this somewhat old thread, but I require some help in making a pair of Zissou Sambas.

For the stitching, what color did you choose? I was thinking old gold or whatever it's called but I'm not sure how it's supposed to show up.

Also, the logo portion of the heal, is that blue in leather or blue in suede?

I am pretty sure they just used a gold metallic marker to write ZISSOU on the Adidas ROMS used in the actual movie, but I am making this judgement based on still photos from movie -- I have never seen a really good close-up.

On the MiAdidas Sambas, I think going with whatever "gold" color they have is best. I forget the actual name, but it is the only gold choice for embroidery option.

The back heel is NOT suede but just regular blue leather with white Adidas logo.

The only suede on the shoe should be near toe -- choose WHITE for the suede color -- look at the other pics of MiAdidas shoes on this page for reference.
