TE RotJ Fiberglass Stormtrooper Helmet

[Too Much Garlic]

My 2nd newest acquisition. A RotJ Stormtrooper helmet cast that has been matched to the TE owned and Propstore of London original. I thought it was unique and interesting because of all the surface detail preserved from the original and had never seen one before, so decided to get it.

Sitting next to one of my SFS helmets.

If anyone have any pictures of the original RotJ helmet this was made from, I'd love to see them... as well as hearing any info anyone may have about this piece and the original.

Having studied this for a while it has become apparent that it is NOT a cast off the Propstore of London original that TE used to own. The shapes of the decals disproves that. It is from something else. So... I'm just wondering: from what!?

I'm surprised this thread didn't get the attention this kind of thing usually does. Wish I could help, but I'm no expert, I'm afraid. I'd love to hear others chime in though!

Rather surprising. We have a myriad of threads explaining the histories backwards and forwards of every single helmet in fan possession and all runs, recasts and what have you... but with this one... basically nothing.

So is this one from TE's friend selling fiberglass copies, or from somewhere else, seeing as it doesn't match the TE owned helmet and TE doesn't seem to remember or recognize it as something from that camp.

So... what do I actually own here?

Strange, considering that the photo of the top is TE's original ROTJ helmet and photo of the low taken at Comic Con (Propstore of London's original ROTJ helmet).

I have a few pictures of an original RotJ Stormtrooper helmet taken at the Museum of the Moving Image in London.
Need to scan them first.

Strange, considering that the photo of the top is TE's original ROTJ helmet and photo of the low taken at Comic Con (Propstore of London's original ROTJ helmet).

Yes, those two are definitely the same helmet. But that helmet does not match mine. The decal details on mine are differently shaped, excluding the possibility that it is cast off that particular RotJ helmet.

It was while tracing the decal details that I realized it couldn't possibly be from that TE owned original. I wanted to see how much of the original detail was still there... and it turns out that it's a lot... though, there are areas that are completely washed out... the rear area of the left tube stripes, for instance, is completely guesswork, as there's nothing there on the surface to go by... basically the three-four last stripes towards the ear.

TE told that a friend of him made a mould of the original ROTJ helmet. Thus is it possible that TE had another original ROTJ helmet?

Maybe one with the full suit and another one "alone" (Comic Con helmet).

Just a supposition.
