TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...

Banepants.com is the way to go right now for the coat, I am working with another designer to make something a little more accurate for a touch more than the bane pants one, I will keep you guys informed

lets not forget the belstaff jacket. Looks brown, but it seems it was black then weathered. I have done a lot of research and it appears there is some confusion, the nearest one to Banes is the Trial master or trophy, however there are three variants of this. One has no patches on the shoulder and elbows, the other has checked patches on the shoulder and elbows, the correct one has stitched same material ( not checked ) patches on the shoulders and elbows. Not 100% accurate, but seeing as the movie one was made for the film, they are the best you will get until a custom one is made

Collar looks really flimsy and the brown is way off and those are just the big things that jump out at you. For $200 I'll pass. I would much rather shell out an extra $100 for better quality and accuracy.

Eric, it's not Rdmauls opinion. He is stating a fact m8. Thanks for sharing the info, but as far as accuracy goes, the coat you have shared is way off compared to the others around. Cosplay can be a funny thing and can also be a personal thing, however most strive to get as accurate to the movie as possible and try to match the original as much as they can. The jacket you show is off by a long way, as per some first glance issues that Bread pointed out. No offence intended

Hey
Since I didn't see it posted here. I figured I would.

This is the original jacket used for the film.
super villan

That is what the jacket looks like before it's distressed. Which was done by the costume dept. It was made by Johnathan A. Logan in Los Angeles for the film. So it's not exactly "in-house" as Lindy Hemming reported. The term In-House has a very broad meaning nowadays in the film & tv industry. But Johnathan will confirm he made the jacket for the film. He has a very long career in the industry. He made Brad Pitt's iconic jackets for Fight Club and Se7en. So if you are looking for the actual jacket, this is it! But it will be quite expensive as the materials used are apparently tough to work with.

Thanks ski. I get my info from pictures and trawling the web, so i stand corrected. On the research i did and looking at used old Belstaff jackets it seemed plausible that they had just weathered them. If you know they used 10oz Brown wax cotton it makes my job easier :)

Thanks for the info. I would still suggest the two belstaf jackets i listed, but would change them to brown rather than black then. To add insult to injury i let brown one go as i thought it would be wrong lol...Oh well you live and learn

That Jacket is gorgeous, I sent them a message to see what the price would be. I will be completely surprised if its under a $1000

I am sure everyone likes that great effort by Celebswear.
Price $199 so cheap – love it

Dude,
You really like Celebswear. You work for them or something? Going thru your posts, almost all speak of Celebswear. I think over at Filmjackets forum, they are listed in the Hall of Shame for stealing other peoples jacket pix and using as their own work. Why dont you join in on other topics instead of posting links to Celebswear or whatever company they want to call themselves this week.

That's because he IS Celebswear.
...and for the record he's also using some of my products and pics from udreplicas.com to sell his bootleg goods.

I got a email back from the company that made Banes coat and it's only $4000 pretty cheap huh? I am working on something with a costume designer so I will keep you informed

Oh, I figured he was Celebs.
He is using pics of your products David? Which ones? I went looking and didn't see them. Maybe he took them down. But either way, naughty naughty :facepalm

Ban Him.

But then, perhaps his death should be more painful.

Your knockoff coat looks like plastic. That's why you steal other peoples pictures of good products.

His punishment must be more severe.

Well what if I could chew the fat here and graciously acknowledge one half of the story to be true that I have got an association with Celebswear.com, but that’s just half of the story! I have been their more than a satisfied customer for years! While browsing through their store, whatever newfangled merchandise I happen to find worth sharing I always share on forums and then friends like you comment and share your opinions :) I know that this particular bane coat ain’t the most precise replication but for me, the price tag it gets should also be taken into the kind consideration. For me, an expenditure of $199 on a costume like that for the upcoming Halloween would be worthwhile. Again not the best costume indeed comparing to those who are selling it for multiple folds hike prices but it is simply fantastic at this price. Moreover, one can relishes further discount of $20, which makes the deal mouthwatering. Now, when the talk of Halloween has already begun, let me reveal my plan for the main event! I am intending to wear this coat, not as big bad guy Bane but as a mild man Bane with a humane touch. I just want to cool off this hot and spiteful character. How about that guys?

I almost guarantee this is a different person on his account typing, the broken english from the first post to this is completely different.

In any case the celebswear coat is atrocious and is not a good deal at $150 even. I wouldn't pay anywhere more than $50 for it only to use it as a stunt piece I take off before I fight Batman
