Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept

Well it's September and my results aren't much different even with more hard work. Time to try a 2 month low carb diet. Hopefully that will trim up my stomach, because cardio and weight training haven't been.

I hear you man. You're still a young fella so I'm sure even 3-4 weeks of reducing carbs would trim you out. I've been a food lover all my life and as you get older it gets way harder to keep that stubborn fat away! But hey that's what we're all here for! As far as my results I'm actually down 5lbs but here's the kicker: that's 5lbs down from the 10 that I gained these last couple months! I know what I did wrong, I kept eating as if I was still working out hard every day and I wasn't. I was extremely busy finishing costumes for people and my own side-projects. No excuses though. I'm getting back in shape for halloween and I got a caribbean christmas coming on at the end of the year so whaddayasay fellas? What's your guy's next fitness milestone? What should the next deadline be? Halloween? Spooky abs Challenge? Let's do it!

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept

Thanks for the encouragement :) glad to hear you're doing something to get back to your goals too. And I'm down for the Halloween challenge. Maybe my low carb diet will be showing some better results by then.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept

So I've been doing P90X the past 17 days (not counting today) and, though I barely see results, I definitely feel results. I'm sore as hell and I've actually improved my flexibility! So here's to 73 more days! Hopefully I'll be in Spidey-shape then!

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept

Feeling good on my fitness, but haven't finished my suit as expected by this deadline. :( Threw on the mask from my oldest suit, trying out wearing a faceshell for the first time.

Looking good brother!! Gonna have to sell your Orhadar suit soon and get a bigger one I think hmmm?

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept

It's that time again?! Lol. I'm weighing in at 174lbs at 5'10" (in the 616 universe Peter Parker is listed as 5'10", 163lbs) :). Hoping to gain another 5 pounds in the next 2 weeks then cut for 3 or 4 months. I'm planning a Hannibal King cosplay from the end scenes of Blade trinity so I'll need to be in tip top shape for that! Congrats to all our spidery brothers who are getting it done in the gym, November 4th anyone?......

Haha thanks, brother!
Nah, I'm still tiny, just a little sharper in the curves and getting better at posing like I'm large.

You're looking badass. Hannibal King's a great costume idea, think you'll kill it.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept

You guys are killing it! Nov 4th it is then.

Anyone out there Vine? I got this little silly workout series going LOL:

"Sam" is the character I recently built in case you have no clue who that dude is. He is currently in my mannequin and watches me workout while he insults me and keeps me going LOL...Spidey would be more friendly so he wouldn't be a good coach :p

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! YOU CAN DO IT by NOV 4

Nice work! I just blew my calorie count away with 4 slices of pizza! I was around 163 at Baltimore Comic Con with 20% bodyfat...back to work for Haloween!

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept

I'm in the midst of building my ASM2 suit. I won't be the first person to finish this version of Spidey, but I'm hoping to make mine as special and exacting as I can. In attempting to display fidelity to their established vision of the character, I'll have to try to match Garfield's physical profile to go with the textile work.
This is tricky because Garfield is a few inches taller than me, so he has longer limbs and wider shoulders compared to his head, but in trying to keep a long and lean appearance and being aided by the fact that Garfield's faceshell substantially increases the relative size of his cranium, I think I'll be able to get reasonably close in the end.
The suit should be done before the first of September, so this is a good timeframe to align with the project. Here's the current state.

Thanks. :) I shared it earlier in the thread, but it's nothing special. Not everybody's body responds the same way to the same things, so just find a workable program that you can be consistent with and that you will work hard in. I already had a very similar body type, so I can't give any advice on transformations, just basic-level fitness knowledge. I'm not an expert on this type of stuff like MonsterDave.

Hey guys- congrats to everybody, also, sorry( and a little surprised ) that IF didn't pan out for you, Bluenyte. Have you tried Rusty Moore's programs? His stuff has been seriously helping me out. Closer to my goals than ever, which is good, as I've got a vacation in March I'm hoping to get in shape for. Anyway, I'd like to pose a general question to the board, and ask whether anyone here has had any sort of experience with John Kiefer's Carb Nite Solution diet? I just had my second carb nite and I don't feel the same way as I did after the first- I couldn't detect the insulin spike and just feel sick and uncomfortable. I did some glycogen depleting HIIT to get the carbs out of my system, and did it on the fifth night, kept everything extremely low fat on carb nite, etc. Just wondering if I'm the only one. I'll probably try a second one, give the body a little longer between nites, maybe do a second reorientation or something. If anyone has comments or suggestions, my ears seem even larger than they normally do, now my face is leaner, so I am closer than not to all ears. Thanks.

I just switched to a low carb diet and started taking no-explode before working out and I'm seeing and feeling better gains finally. Everything is getting stronger except for my chest though. I can't seem to get past my wall on bench. It's been really bumming me out on chest day :(

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! YOU CAN DO IT by NOV 4

Haven't posted here in a while, chalk that up to starting college and life in general. But, I have still been working and with my suit finally being sent off to be sewn, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. My campus has a fantastic gym, and me and a buddy have been pretty good with sticking to a schedule. I'm beginning to see some improvements :D.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! YOU CAN DO IT by NOV 4

Awesome stuff, guys.

Here's some motivation/inspiration I found today. Not saying everybody aims for the same kind of specific results, just that if I've ever seen a "Spider-Man workout" it's this. Guy moves the way Spider-man must lounge around:

I wish there were more threads like this one. Really inspiring. I'm not working out to pull off a spider-man suit but I have been working out to pull off another character.
