Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

I'm not sure of your age, but at 6'0" and 135, I don't think there's much danger in getting really bulky. You can probably go on a weight gaining protein and diet, and lift for gaining size and strength.
Oh no, I weigh 160.... I can bench 135!

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

I started using Nike Training Club for my iPhone this week for my ab workouts this past week. My trainer told me to mix it up and not to just do the same thing everyday and he recommended the app. I've done a few workouts and the hardest setting is a pretty good workout but I mostly use it for the 15 minute workouts that are just one area, in my case my abs and core. Its a pretty good workout after about a week in a half I'm already seeing differences. Only downside is the 15 minute work outs aren't THAT hard, for example i do the hardest ab one, thats the only one that challenges me and I'm not in as good of shape as others so I'm sure others can breeze through it. Regardless just wanted to share.

What kind of exercises are you doing? I've been reading a lot about ab workouts lately... lots of experts these days are realizing that sit ups and even crunches aren't as effective as we thought in the old days. Hanging leg raises and planking are the rage now.

I do hanging leg raises at the gym. In the nike work out I do like russian twists with medicine balls, planks, suitcases, Leg lifts, side plank crunches, v-ups as well as full extension crunches. I also will do sit ups after but I agree I don't think sit-ups alone do as much as if you pair them with other workouts.

I strongly recommend the insanity program for anyone who needs to lose fat and tone up.

At over 15,000 views and 12 pages in, this is by far my most viewed and commented thread ever and its because everybody made it their own. It's a place to share inspiration, progress and accountability. So for accountability's sake I've decided to start going hardcore again, yesterday.

So here's my Day 1 pic (again) 3/4/2013. 168 lbs.

My goal is to lose 10 pounds (or more) by before May 4th and get more toned. I promise to check in every week with a new scale picture and a proud "shirt off" pic by the end of my deadline.

Thanks for keeping this going guys. I'm very proud of all of you and honored to call you Spider-bros.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. "Shirts-off" Challenge Starts NOW for May 4th deadline!

Nice! I'm glad people are on-board! I made it official on the thread name. So now its on for real guys.

What would be real cool is if we had a price of sorts to offer here...just to make it more interesting you know?...but it's tough to gauge individual progress against each other because we're all starting from different stages and have different goals. Any ideas or thoughts? Maybe we call it the "Ripped or Shredded challenge" and I can offer doing a free Battle damage "Rips/Scars" on the winner's suit...but that may not work because not everyone may want that...and what if I win? No prize for me LOL...Maybe we're overthinking this...I guess being in better shape is already a great prize. Let me know what you think.

I think you're right. Besides, it would be really hard to judge everyone's results against each other. We would have to put it to a vote of some kind or something...doesn't really work.

Doing T-shirts would be cool but that would cost...Well hey, if anything, this is what I'll do. Whoever sticks to this challenge, I'll put together another one of these as a souvenir, and include you in it. At least that's something :)

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. "Shirts-off" Challenge Starts NOW for May 4th deadline!

I'm in !
I've been working out everyday for 2 month to get rid of my fat belly while working on my TASM suit to motivate myself.
I don't have a specific deadline but definitely decided after many try that this time, i'm going to succeed and won't quite!
This is the first time I actually kept my motivation on, this challenge and your support will definitely help me to keep bringing it.

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. "Shirts-off" Challenge Starts NOW for May 4th deadline!

Nice! OK so let's set some parameters. Just to give it some structure. Would everyone be willing to take day 1 pics kinda like we did up there and share weekly stats? How about Sundays so you have a reason to behave a bit during the weekend? We can either share weight or measurement's progress. How does that sound to everyone?

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. "Shirts-off" Challenge Starts NOW for May 4th deadline!

Sounds good to me ;)

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. "Shirts-off" Challenge Starts NOW for May 4th deadline!

Perfect! I find accountability, motivation and clear deadlines make for important keys to success when it comes to any goal.
