The Star Wars Album does have a side view of the escape pod model.

I'm a film composer ( Listen Here ) who accidentally turned his hobbies (visual effects, sound design) into second careers, and decided to open a post-production company.

I'm not making the model available at this time - even though the mesh is as accurate as it's possible to be (there were some variation amongst the real ones), the real key to his look is in the material work and rendering, a lot of which uses proprietary stuff I've had written for us.

He was modeled in Maya, and rendered with mental ray.

I've got a Halloween desktop image coming in the next few days you may be interested in!
