T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

Been out for a bit building my house. Really missed some cool stuff. You guys are sooo talented. Too Much Garlic I would love to see you involved with licensed Terminator stuff but also Star Wars. ;)

Thank you TMG.

Project shapes onto a simple, symmetrical topology.
Project the shape in further subdivisions.
Make it symmetrical by averaging the left and right coordinates.
I really need to match the points more precisely, but
But right now, I'm roughly matching the points.
Distortions are to be corrected by point editing.
Panel lines, etc. will be added at the end.

Elbow parts
Subdivision surface modeling is almost done, although it still needs fine-tuning.

I found a few mistakes.
I will fine-tune later.

Looks cool. I think you should do the groove work as a square cut and not angled in.
The polygon count for the whole body is expected to be huge.
I would like to reduce the number of polygons in inconspicuous areas as much as possible.
If there is room, I may allocate polygons for details.

Is this the EMP skull?

Research - Endoskull Ports - T1.jpg

Looks like it to me... but if anyone can pick up details matching between the two that could be sweet. Anyone have a direct side view showing the right temple insert to see if the weathering is the same. I only have this.

Yeah, spotted those too. There are two dots a little higher up on the encircled brow dent that matches up too.

So the Quartz picture shows the close-up T1 skull when it is shown looking around at the end, as DeltaDesignRus already showed that the EMP skull matched that one. So, that's nice to know what that particular skull in that picture is. Maybe it never had a rear cover!?

I think it’s definitely safe to say they are one and the same. I often wonder about the rear port cover. Maybe like you said, it never had one.

Yeah. In all the scenes DeltaDesignRus identified that particular endoskul you never saw it from an angle that would show that area of the head, if I remember correctly.

I think we should see this as “the” ultimate Endoskull. It’s from the original movie and retains all the original details and size. We’ve talked about it before but I think this should be the benchmark. Nothing compares honestly. All others are lacking certain details or are softened. I feel this retains the original sculpt the best. You were the first to call this TooMuchGarlic and I feel it is right. Now you’ve confirmed that the EMP skull is this one from T1 that’s it for me. :)

Well, it was DeltaDesignRus who first showed almost conclusively that the EMP was shown in T1. I had heard many speculate it was a T1 due to its look and how it was painted.

I just presented the EMP and that picture Quartz posted to most likely being the same skull.

But I agree... this skull is top dog along with the one on the full T1 endoskeleton if that prop is still in one piece and not scattered out. Some posted that Schwarzenegger had that prop at his office. Can anyone actually confirm that it is the actual one?

Ok then to DeltaDesignRus thanks for figuring that one out.You rock.;) I do remember something earlier in the thread he posted. I just forgot. I don’t know about Schwarzenegger owning the full Endo. I hope that is true and it still survives. For me now though the EMP is the ultimate skull.

Back to working on the T1 knees. Took out the wonkyness of the vertical ring and made it completely round again like it was initially, while keeping it within the parameters of the T2 LFS knee scan. Now it will be much easier to add the grooves to that part again... and it is clear that the originals were two round parts glued together, and any wonkyness seen in the LFS can be attributed to warped castings - either from what he molded, or when he molded and cast his.

Really wish I was better at this modeling thing... and that I had the energy to sit down and learn it. It could easily be done a whole lot better than what I'm doing, for sure... but I don't have the money to pay someone to do it...

It's weird. The holes on the T2 knees aren't centered, but it appears the T1's are. So the shrinkage and potential warpage may have caused them to move the hole a bit towards the back instead. I had to move it center again as I had positioned it where the T2 scan ones were.

Did some scans today. The ankle piece, the lower leg piece and the shins - I scanned both my shins because they are a little different, but I may only use the right one (left in picture) because the left one is warped down towards the ankle piece and the resin is splitting in the back, maybe causing the warp.

You may not be able to tell the difference between the old scan (far left in the picture) with the new ones, but they are much sharper and better detailed. The two middle ones are my new scans. The ankle and lower leg piece seen beneath both shins are the same scans used for both. At the far right I included the rougher ghostman scan, because it has detail at the top that is filed away on my kit shins. I was hoping I could be allowed to use that area of ghostman's photogrammetry scan to fix that area on my shins.
