T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

I've been away for a pretty long time. But, I was having a rough day yesterday and wondered what kinda Terminator stuff was going on lately to cheer me up. I took a light spin through your thread and I believe I have a ton of information to share.

I've also accumulated rare endoskeleton parts and reference since I was last active here. It will take me a bit to get rolling, but I really feel like I could contribute to this discussion. I will say straight up, that I cannot promise that I can share everything, but I believe I can help.

I’ve been obsessed with the Endoskeleton since T1 came out and I’ve chased it as a prop/replica for over 20 years. I have been fortunate to have made some connections over the years to people who possess and/or made screen used endoskeletons or the commercial replicas.

To give you some proof, I’ll come out and say that I am the owner of one of the skull castings you recently posted pictures of (from Worthpoint). The seller worked on T2 and T2:3D with John Rosengrant who gave them this casting in the mid 90s:

Anyway, I feel like I might be hijacking your LFS thread, don’t mean to. So, I’ll leave it at that for now. I think I can answer some of your questions but I think we also have some difference of opinion on details like screen used tells. So, I also don’t want to cause trouble/drama here (it’s one of the reasons I walked away from this place years ago). Let me know!

Amazing T2 Skull Never seen this bevore.... if you have time to do , This thread Definitely needs more pictures of this LFS T2 skull and comparison pictures with the Endoskull from T1 M1.
best regards

3D engraved the logo, this is the beveled version. Mostly quad topology.

Yeah. The search goes on for some parts. I know we will soon have other parts we need to find stuff for, but I'm waiting for them to get ready to show it.

I may have found a place to HD 3D scan my foam skull. It's a little expensive pr hour, but I'll see how much we can cram into that session and I hope I can be allowed to be there when they scan it, so I can just bring the skull and then take it back with me once we are done.

Well, they started out reasonably, but then the price just went up and up and finally they said that those were without tax... so... at the end it would have been more than I paid for the Einstar scanner. Maybe they got a little too excited about what I wanted to get scanned... though... I kinda doubt it. :)

Anyway. Here's a fun little picture of what I have gathered over the years while working on this project. Some collected scans and photogrammetry paired with my own scan.

The young Arnold is cool. But it is lacking the texture data. If anyone has that and is willing to share it, let me know. :)

Unsure whether the bust is actually from T3. It wasn't given to me with that label... I just thought it seemed to fit with how he looked at that time.

Hey, ghostman, I was wondering if you could use the inside surface of my chest and back scan to fix the missing insides of yours?

You would have to tweak the shape a little on mine to pull in the flare at the sides down where the piston bowl sits, but I thought that could be an option?

I will have to find a way to split the fused spine piece so I get the two lower pieces individually.

My kit came with the fused piece and then 2 of spine section number 3.

Anyone having the old style LFS kit, could you chime in with whether that was how it always came, or whether it also had the fourth or fifth spine section?

Later they changed out the spine to what ghostman used for his photogrammetry and which can also be seen on the Sideshow v2 if I'm not mistaken. And I believe that spine was created by swpropmaker. I may be wrong on this.

My photogrammetry shows no chest content.
I plan to fix it. But that will be in the next year or so.
This year I want to finish the head and shoulder blades.

Topology is important in subdivision modeling.
Blender's Quad Remesher may be useful, but in the end you will have to modify it manually.
And Blender's add-ons Final Topology and Retopology Modifiers will be useful.

I'm currently working on a movable 3D model and wanted to know how exactly you built the movement of the neck vertebra, so how does it work with the balls, are they simply loose because there has to be something fastened, what do the parts look like from the inside?
The cross section of the neck looks like this.
It is ball-jointed with a hemispherical part.
The center part will be connected with a flexible pipe.

Cool. You should do the spine that way too to simulate the movement seen in the hero props in the movies.

And remember the spacers between each spine piece as well as how it's supposed to curve back up towards the torso, wich also pushes the front of the pelvis down, so it sits naturally like it should and how it sits on the screen used endos.

I'm still trying to find spine section 4 and 5, as they did not come with my early LFS kit. 6 and 7 will probably be impossible to find as they don't seem to extend that far up on the SWS production made and later made endoskeletons... but 4 and 5 could be possible to find in fan offerings that aren't the later made spine type.

In fact, those parts are hollow inside.

thanks for this informations now i can fix the model .... my bust/skull model is from a cgtrader skynet named guy but i added some details stuff cables and movements.... to Many details have already been fixed by myself , but the neck vertebra is now coming ;)
the final finish is still a bit far away
