T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

A little more work. Gonna stop for today. Feeling a little tired. Will try and do the shell feeder opening towards the front tomorrow or later... we'll see if I have the energy. Once I'm done with this side I will mirror it over onto the other side and work on the details that are there on that side, which are not seen on this side.

Hope that makes sense.

TazMan has done an entire one not long ago;) It's looking good so far(y)(y)(y)

I know. Gonna send him a message soon.

2 nuts and odd screws took all day to make... yikes. They were beyond annoying. And unsure if I even got them right at all...

Taking a break.

Watching the scene in T1 again and I seriously doubt the weapon used was the m2 50 Cal. What he's holding is way too small and it's not just a square box with a barrel and the bullet feeder sticks out really far on the side. Something is really weird about that gun. A shame we cannot get a clear view of the side of it.

Yeah, I read that. But it doesn't appear to be an authentic Browning M2. The spade grips are as wide compared to the gun as they are seen on the smaller anm2 30 cal. The ammo feeder is shaped weird. And the gun has a raised section at the top rear, where it should be level with the front. I for a second thought they removed the top plate at the front over the ammo feeder to get that shape, but that would remove part of the ammo feeder... and the shapes and details of the top surface doesn't match an open m2.

The two cables underneath are clearly what fuels the ammo flashes.

The gun in the movie is NOT the shape I've been modeling for days now. It is something else.

If it is a Browning... then I haven't found reference of the exact variant used. Could it be a foreign military variant. Or just a prop-house made replica?

This is basically the rough shape I see. I may have wrongfully added curves, where it should be a straight angled surface. I can fix that later.

I will continue the work from this shape and add as many details as I can spot from the grainy photographs. The Blu-ray that came out some years ago with the new restoration has some clearer views, but I could only photograph it, which lost most of the details, as I cannot screen capture, and that version is not available anywhere online as far as I have been able to find - only the earlier warmer toned one, which isn't as richly detailed.

If anyone can take loads of screen shots of the weapon from those two future war scenes and post them here, I would really appreciate it.

Does anyone have a pic of the M1 kit skull from straight underneath without the jaw? I'm sorry to chime in with this but I can't find a clear picture like this anywhere and I thought this might be the place to ask.

thank you for that!

I have the skynet20....29 (?) model printed out.

Contacted him on his T2 model but he never replied. I once had an untouched M1 kit but sadly I sold it many moons ago here on the RPF. I'm unsure if the skynet2029 model is a scan of the M1 or - like this one - one of a Thai recast.

The awkward upper jaw position is the same on the skynet model so I just wanted to check if its present on the original M1 too.

I wonder however if the other models out there derive from a Genisys skull since they are so symetrical in shape.

I’m sure that TMG’s post covers what you were looking for. Here’s a shot of my M1 upper skull from the underside.

Note that this photo shows the skull without the separate piece for the jaw/neck mounts attached. I bought the kit for my personal reference and didn’t intend to build it. So, most of my parts are in factory condition and untrimmed. The previous owner didn’t do much with it (which is what I was looking for).

I believe DeltaDesignRus mentioned Skynet2029's model was based on his scan. Unsure if I remember correctly. Their subsequent reworks remove it more and more from original shapes.

The Genisys skull is a very, very different shape. I think only the Chronicles skull made a Genisys version.

The other licensed symmetrical skulls are probably also just a rework of the DeltaDesignRus scan, as I doubt any company would waste time scanning a skull, when they can just grab that one and tweak it. We have seen licensed companies do that before. Just taking fanmade stuff and tweaking it and make their version from it.

Again, I made some corrections to the skull. And previous test models, one with conductive paint, for electroplating.
which scale are these? did you alter one of the avaiable models (Djon / skynet / DeltaDesignRus)?

The skynet model does have a very clean mesh, don't know anything about the DeltaDesign model.

I must admit I am a total amateur regarding anything Terminator related :D. When looking at the Djon model, which is heavily symetrical, cleaned and modified, I thought well this might be a scan of something a studio did because they might have reworked an endoskull digitally.

Honestly apart from Genisys - which was a let down for me - I never watched anything or liked anything after T2 so my knowledge is very limited to say at least.

There was an M1 kit on the bay some weeks ago and I thought about giving it a shot in order to scan it.
