T O Y Story 3 (With Spoilers)

Saw it today - GREAT flick, my family and I loved it.

I must admit I had a lump in my throat at the very end....

Great stuff!

Did anyone else notice how Lot's O Huggin bear's main henchman "Big Baby" was like a Darth Vader type character? He was kinda scarry and did what he was told until he remembered the past and his Momma:cry. The part when LotsO crushed the heart necklace and the Big Baby tossed him over his head was very emotional and made me feel for that character. Just imagine how much more intence the Luke/Vader/Palpatine final battle would of been if Luke had tossed the Japor Snippet to Vader to only have the Emperor crush it. This part of the film has just stuck with me and made one of the TOYS that I thought I would like the least into one of my favorites.

Yes! I said right away as we were watching that it was a 'Vader moment'!

Glad you caught that too.:thumbsup

Did big baby remind anyone else of Jason since he has the lazy eye?

Who felt for buzz lightyear this movie. I know woody is the old standby, but seeing his selfishness throughout the the whole series. Is it me or does buzz get the short end of the stick. In the first movie buzz is almost killed by woody, in the second buzz saves woody only to get told by woody he is seeking something better. And in the third one buzz is just thrown aside like nothing.

However, the story remind me of "The Brave Little Toaster"..Boy grows up..Favorite childhood toys accidently thrown away. They go on a journey to find their owner..end up in a dump and gets rescued..

You do know the reason Lasseter came up with Toy Story is because they wouldn't let him make Brave Little Toaster at Disney way back when. Whole thing was basically based on BLT from the beginning. Funny how we got Indiana Jones because of Bond, Star Wars because of Flash Gordon and TS thanks to Brave little toaster.

Saw it to-night and like all but one Pixar (Nemo) - I, of course, loved it!

But I'm not sure why everyone is claiming it's so weep-inducing? I read beforehand that it was a weeper and was anticipating weepy scenes coming, but it wasn't until I got home and read this thread that I even knew which scenes it was that people were weeping up at.

I do weep from time to time in movies, so I'm not heartless (Jessie being donated in TS2 gets me every time). But the hand holding scene wasn't sad to me at all - I was more of an anxious thing than a weepy thing - like: "I wonder how they'll get out of this situation, 'cause I know they're not going to let them die". Maybe if one didn't make it (but showed up later, of course) - it would be more of a weeper.

And the Andy playing with Bonnie scene wasn't weep-inducing to me because it seemed like everyone involved was alright with the situation. Andy was ok with letting the toys go, the toys were happy they were finally being played with (after many years) and will stay together and Bonnie got some new toys - nothing at all weepy about that to me.

I feel bad now for not weeping - I think I'll go cry myself to sleep. :cry

Oh, and Day & Night is probably the best Pixar short ever!

Whatever emotions this movie has you feel, I have to say it was the best so far this year and I hope many more get a chance to see it in theaters. It's one of those rare sequels that can be considered just as good, if not better, than the first - something that seldom happens once you get to a part-3....may I offer up Spider-Man 3?:sick

......No Bo Beep. :angry:angry:confused:cry

If you pay close attention, you actually see her in past pictures and videos with etch sketch and RC.

I didnt know that. Thanks for letting me know :thumbsup
Brave Little Toaster was one of my favorite childhood animated movies which explains why I noticed all the similarities with TS3. Back in the good old days with the Rescuers and The Great Mouse Detective.

I hope they make a Chuckles Figure. Also, it was great to see SID all grown up

I got a bit teary eyed with the holding hands in the furnace thing. I had totally suspended disbelief at that point and it didn't occur to me that Disney would never kill off the entire cast of main characters at the end of a movie.

I saw it today, and will see it again soon. I really loved this movie. ...and yes, I sure did tear up!

I don't think I have ever cried during a movie.... that was before Toy Story 3.

I am older then Andy but only by a few years so I could really relate to what he went through in this film. Andy playing with his toys one last time was the saddest part of the movie IMO.

I had to really think about the holding hands scene that you guys kept bringing up, some how I had forgotten about it. I had a feeling Lotso would redeem himself and come back to save them, which he of course didn't.

Saw it tonight, I liked it a lot but I thought it was much darker than the other movies. Almost too dark for kids, my 4 year old was a little lost. I still think the first was the best. 3-D was not necessary, I wish I would have saved the cash.

Saw it today.

Amazing. Proves you can make great sequels if you leave the suits out of the equation.

Go Pixar!!!
