Got mine in. Haven't put batteries in it yet.

It's a cool display piece, but it feels pretty toy like, being all plastic. The front of the barrel (emitter? muzzle?) flicks open pretty easily as it's not magnetic and only softly snaps in place.

I rewatched Tested's video with Chronicle discussing the prototype. There's a few key differences in the final product. The target screen/sight was supposed to be painted blue and there was a silver trim on the handle. Being made of plastic, there is a seam running along the entire middle of the blaster. The paintjob itself is just okay. It is a very plastic looking silver-gray, like what you would see on Hasbro's prop replicas

Update: Mine doesn't work. I tried several fresh batteries.
I hate to be that guy so don't hate me, but did you put the batteries in the right way and insert it completely into the grip? Mine works as intended, but I took a second look at which way the batteries went. Does the LED on the cartridge itself light up when inserted?

Yeah, they were inserted correctly.

I got it to work. It seems the spring inside the battery compartment for the left battery wasn't making contact with the metal plate.

Wonder how easily it can be disassembled and refinished...

Forgot about tax. All totaled up it's gonna be 300 dollars.

I hate the seam as others have pointed out and I also agree it is toy like in appearance, but I like the side light show to include the lighted removable power cell. I just Picked it up (hopefully) as it’s limited to 300 pieces and frankly I guess we are damn lucky to have it opportunity wise really considering Chronicle‘s demise. Blade runner props are few and far between in availability. For me it’s good enough until another model is presented and $250.00 is not a bad price for a licensed prop.

I was re-watching Ron Moore‘s Galactica series late night ( rooting for the cylon‘s of course ) when Apollo put his season one blaster to COL tigh’s head and what did I see ? Clamshell lines right through the middle of the prop. I think we forget sometimes we as fans and as prop collectors are the worst customers who demand only the highest detail and most prop accurate productions. In some case even better than the originals And at a low price point. As a concept art piece maybe this is good enough for a gun that will probably otherwise not have seen or will the light of day again?

So say we all.
