Anyone have any idea on the parts used for this panel (mostly concerned with the buttons & lights).

they are just plant room / systems lights without the
silver 'frame'. They are still available from RS components in the UK.

BTW. I believe the big lights were also used on the Tantive IV set.

Yeah, they're all over the place on Star Wars sets; cockpits, consoles, and computers, I've been looking for these on and off for ages.

Hal, I've searched around RS's site but can't seem to find them, do you have a product number by any chance??

I've found similar lights but only have two of them and although close, they aren't quite the same.

Jeremy

Yes, it would be interesting to make one panel or two from the Death Star.

Hal - Please help us out with this.

Those of us who are interested in the sets could use some help. Someday I a might even make the Falcon Nava computer to go with the chair I'm building.

The sets of Star Wars blow me away because the so called found parts don't really look like anything in the real world.

I've seen similar panel mount lights, but I'm not sure if they were big enough.
Any guesses as to the diameter of those big red and blue ones?

they have countersunk those coloured 'lenses' btw.

anyway, I will have a proper look at the enormour RS catalog I have at work on Monday for you.

:thumbsup

Thanks Hal :)

These are the ones I've found:

The lenses are 35mm in diameter across the base and about 12mm tall.

Jeremy, you wouldn't happen to have a soruce for those, would you? They're lovely.

Hi Frinky

No sadly I don't. The only markings on them are 'Made in England' and 'Crabtree' -that obviously being the manufacturer.

They were given to me by a friend at a radio station I used to work for so I'm assuming they're 'on air' lamps for broadcast studios. Don't know any more than that I'm afraid.

..the lens size might be roughly about the same size as at least some used on SW sets, but obviously the chromed bezels on mine are far too chunky.

Jeremy

Ah, ok. Thanks anyway. I wasn't really thinking of SW panels - I just love lights and blinkies of that nature, and could think of about 100 uses for them :)

Hi Hal, any joy with this??

.. You're a fellow Londoner, have you noticed the green and red signal lights at the entrance to tunnels at some Underground stations? They seem about right, although possibly a bit too big. I need a way to ask London Underground what make they are without sounding like a nutter! :$
