Thanks to Ozymandius for the Cast Colt.

Decided to make a replica of the colt for my son along with a display case. The case was made and purchased from Ozymandius ($ See listing). Painted and prepped. ($3)

The box was a sliding top box from a local craft store. ($6.99) Similar to this one https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Hob...98009307&sr=1-1&keywords=wood+sliding+top+box

Top was removed and replaced with acrylic which the frame shop cut down and gave to me for free. ($0.00) I removed the trim piece from the wood and glued it to the clear acrylic after staining. Box was stained with left over stain from a home improvement project.

Next step was to cut "Frosted Glass Vinyl" and apply to the acrylic top. The design I used is the devil's trap with a few other symbols.

Needed a stand inside the box which would hold the Colt either laying on it's back or standing up. I turned some scrap wood on the lathe into the shape and dimensions of a bullet. Then I carved in the number "13" figuring it's the last bullet.

On to Paint for the bullet.

I used a portion of the removed wood top and made a cut out for the butt of the revolver to sit in. I doubled the thickness where the handle sits and lined it with craft felt. Then it was on to clear coat and finishing. I think it came out pretty well, and hope he'll like it.

That looks spectacular! I am gonna have to steal your idea for the Devils trap on the acrylic. Well done.
