Superman Returns..to the real Smallville (Alberta)

The new Superman film MAY be filming some scenes in Alberta. Welcome back Superman!!!

As most of you know Southern Alberta was Smallville for Superman the Movie and Superman III, and I have located and photographed most of those locations.

Just when I thought I'd run out of filming locations, I may get a shot at hunting some for the new Superman film! Of course if they need a guide to locate all the old locations for inspiration or interest I'd be very happy to help!!

i wouldnt put it that way, they have stated it is a total reboot, nothing to do with previous movies.

its main shooting location is going to be in vancouver....with a small amount of filming around alberta.
alberta probably is standing in for kansas again though.

as vancouver isnt really known for having kansas looking farm land....and alberta does and is a quick trip from vancouver,

geologically speaking, its a pretty simple choice for the film to make.

also, i wouldnt put 100% faith in the article, i read it as well, and it listed the top choices for superman as tom welling and brandon routh....

which is 100% false on both counts.

alot of the entertainment news in the herald comes from gossip websites...and alot of the time they dont actually double check before printing a story.

ive seen many storys in the entertainment section that i knew were 100% false.

I kinda feel bad for Brandon Routh. I didn't totally hate Returns, but he was def. the best part of the movie. And I think the internet polls have him as a huge favourite by the fans when asked for the next Superman.

It's probably best if they go unknown again, especially if it's a reboot. Still, I would have loved to see Jon Hamm wear the suit, even if his age is a little up there.

The truth in the article is the conversation the Cultural Minister had with WB and Disney. Very likely about Superman (his twitter verifies that). The newspaper's writer's added the Welling/Routh bit.

I too think Routh did a great job. I always thought a Death of Superman with Routh would have been great..and lead to a future reboot easily.
