I don't know if I can see this movie in a theater or with any other human beings present. As soon as that theme kicks in I turn into a giant baby. I'm really ready for a Superman that is actually super.
I'm guessing he flew back to where the fortress was from wherever the battle was and ended up crash landing due to his injuries.Love how Krypto is a bit mischievous and playful in the longer clip. Also love how they portray the bots that maintain the Fortress. Speaking of the Fortress, did it just pop up out of the ice where Superman needed it? Or does this mean that the battle was near his home?
I haven't been on theRPF in months. Come back to see what everyone is saying about the trailer. Find out my Star Wars thread is locked down lol.... Anyways my thoughts.
In this day, we don't need a "different" Superman. We don't need to be subverted or the character deconstructed. We need a Superman film, much like Star Wars was in 1977 or, heck, Superman was in 1978. A return to form. Something that's hopeful, and bright. Where right is right, and wrong is wrong. Where the good guys wear white(or blue and red in this case) and the bad guys wear black. And we know who's, who. We don't need moral ambiguity. Our society is being poisoned with it already.
And yeah the trailer is looking good. However I don't trust a modern film maker coming out of modern Hollywood machine. (Or modern Hollywood monster?) So I'm not holding my breath.
And as far as the suit goes. Superman has never had a bad live action suit. (Wait I just remembered that the Nicholas Cage version exists officially.... That one is actually pretty bad.) Otherwise, they've all been pretty good, and done what they've set out to do, with some minor issues along the way.
There are suits like the ones worn by Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Tyler Hoechlin, and Christopher Reeve. (This not an exhaustive list, I know I'm missing a few people.)
They were trying to be 1:1 adaptations. Strait from page to screen. They aren't trying to change things. Now we could argue though, what works for a comic page doesn't necessarily works for the live action screen. (Of course that's subjective, and I for one think they work.)
Then we have suits of Brandon Routh. His are unique.
His suits have one foot in the that classic look. But are modernized, and made into a film costume. Some texture and a raised S shield. I think an argument could be made that these are potentially the best adaptations. Because they bridge two extremes.
Then there's the other suits or Tyler Hoechlin, and this new suit. They are definitely trying to be more modern adaptations. Using the suits of the New 52, Rebirth, or Injustice as inspiration. Leaning more into a sci-fi vibe for some aspects. With sharp lines and angles.
And then there's Henry Cavill's suits. It doesn't try to adapt. It is from, the ground up, a film costume. And it does that well. It's quite a departure. But it does it well.
And honestly I'm here for it all. I like them all (except for that Nichols Cage suit.)
That makes perfect sense, thanks!I'm guessing he flew back to where the fortress was from wherever the battle was and ended up crash landing due to his injuries.
Film Threat the other day did a report on a small test screening of the unfinished film on the Warner lot. About 60 people. Apparently they went absolutely bat-guano insane for it, and somebody in the audience screamed "Fantastic Four is [F-bomb]!"Rumours of some behind the scenes turmoil on this film already. Reviews have been mixed to negative.

I won't post the link here because that F-bomb is on the thumbnail, but you can search for it on YT. The title of the video is:

Interesting! Given Hollywood's output over the last decade, this isn't very surprising, but I'm holding out hope that Gunn can still do something good with a property. Time will tell. My wife and I really loved the first two Guardians films, but we didn't see the third one because we both find animal cruelty very disturbing (even when it's CGI).
You may want to give this Superman film a wide berth, there's every possibility Krypto could be injured during a fight.Interesting! That probably wouldn't bother me. It's the torture we heard about in GOTG3 that put us off.You may want to give this Superman film a wide berth, there's every possibility Krypto could be injured during a fight.
I would hope you're wrong, since I'd really love seeing a movie with a true hero, but as I've said before, Hollywood's track record over this century just hasn't run that way. The Reeve Superman film really got this, dropping him into the modern world and contrasting its cynicism with his small-town-hero ethos. And Superman's ethos wins, because it turns out that the cynical, modern world needs a hero. Wonderful film. The new guy will be very, very hard pressed to supplant Reeve in my mind as the definitive Superman. Here is my prediction and boy do I hope I'm wrong, because the casting is very good.
This movie will massively under perform (as will F4). Nothing I am seeing is motivating
me to want to pay money to see this. It's all just Meh. Gunn does not understand what
the core of what Superman is. He is the antithesis to who we are but who we should
strive to be. Superman the Movie got it because Superman was that Superman dropped into
a world where his example stood out and was hopeful, not goofy. From Krypto, the robots to
the portrayal of Clark more goofy. So yay, we are getting another goofy Gunn movie about
Superman this time. Hooray.

I don't hate anything I see here!
I'm looking for the movie to capture the spirit of this song.
