Superman: Legacy

Not liking the S shield.

The ribbing? Texture? Raised surfaces on the suit are overdone.

Less is more.

In this case, none would be perfect.

If the raised textures on the suit weren’t there, it would be perfect.

Still dig it thought. 8.5.

Can’t really give it a proper appraisal until I see it in action.

It’s much better than Cavill’s dark moody tones.

Next logical progression of the S-logo:

It's one of the upsides of A.I.

In a few more years we will finally get to see that Nic Cage vs giant spider fight.

I'm also looking forward to the long-awaited 1980s Arnie vs Stallone grudge match.

I can’t fully give opinion on the suits… the on set photos of the guardians blue ravager suits looked awful to me but I loved them in the flick.

Lighting/angles does play a role

But nothing here looks terrible… even looks good

I really just want a happy farm boy superman. No angst. Then he can wear a Halloween costume from the 80’s for all I care.

Agreed. Costume is least of my concern, get this character right! I also worry they may be populating this film with too many costumed characters, I want a Superman film, not a team up film.

Agreed!!! (y) (y) (y) (y) (y)

I remember after Batman 89 we complained there was not enough Batman/Bruce Wayne in it. So Burton decided to put in three villains so we saw even less of him. With that bombing, and many complaining about too many villains, they did the same in the next ones.

They never learn.

Enough about the Superman suit..:

Can we please talk about Lex’s head??

Lex’s head has always been portrayed as perfectly round, almost beach ball-like, with a glint of light reflecting off of it at all times.

This actor’s bald head has no shine (it’s almost “dull” in appearance) and appears to be slightly oblong in shape and lacking a “true beach ball” appearance.

If this is sarcasm, it's both funny and well executed.  (y)

If this is serious, we really need to get out more.(n):unsure:

Costumes aside, this is shaping up like it's borrowing a lot from original Superman films, and I don't know if I want another rehash of that. For one thing, I don't think the idea of Superman with a secret identity of a print newspaper reporter works in a modern setting. Maybe if they set it in the 70s or 80s, but not in the 2020s.

I also think the whole idea of Superman being an incredibly powerful hero yet spending most of his time working as a reporter doesn't work either. I get the old idea that as a reporter, he can hear about problems that need his help sooner than the average person, but we live in a digital age now, where anyone can post newsworthy events on social media as they happen. Stories don't come in through the teletype. He doesn't need to work in old media anymore, he just needs a smart phone. And he can travel anywhere in the world almost instantly and use his powers to save people from natural disaters, crime, wars, domestic abuse, trafficking of guns, drugs, humans - there's always something that he could be doing, someone he could be helping, yet he prefers to hang around Metropolis and goop over Lois Lane.

I'd like to see a Superman story where he really feels the burden of trying to help everyone, so much so that he can't have a personal life. I guess that's why I've always liked Spider-Man more - Peter Parker felt that burden of responsibility in a way Superman never has (at least not on screen, I don't know if they ever did any comic stories about it).
