Studio Scale TIE Fighter

No refund, unless you get another buyer, sorry but that seems a bit odd as you haven't received anything yet. You should be refunded if you no longer want to wait. We all have troubles from time to time but that doesn't mean you have to spend other people's money? If its to cover costs then why has there been no product for you, or have you covered other people's costs. I love Gk's & I totally appreciate all that comes with the process of producing them, sadly though I really think things have gone bad in many ways. F&M models has been the only hassle free buy for me & I wish they produced more kits. Steve really should refund you even if it was sold as nonrefundable.

I want to make it perfectly clear that Steve did not refuse to refund. He simply explained the circumstances and said that he'd have the next person to buy one just pay me. I'm fine with that and thought I would facilitate it by making a post here after waiting a couple weeks.

I in no way meant this post as a poor reflection on Steve. He's always been responsive to my emails or PMs and I think no one has anything to worried about. My circumstance is that I just don't really want to wait any longer and with the efx kit coming out, I'd just as soon work out getting my money back. Steve proposed a solution and my previous post was an extension of that, nothing more.

I'm not pissed at anyone and I don't have an axe to grind. I'm new here and don't want to do things the wrong way, but I do feel like things were misrepresented a little. From post #1007:

The NEW TIE kit release of 25 kits will be 1 June 09. This includes standard and hero versions. 25 total. Kits will be boxed in hand ready for immediate shipping prior to the date.. Please email Jamie if you want on the list. Orders will be shipped as payment is made. For info email me or Jamie. Once the 25 are gone I will be working on other studio scale subjects. The Hero TIE/Standard kit will be rerealed at a later date.

I paid June 1 so that I would not miss out. Even when it took awhile, I was ok with the wait because the kit looks fantastic. Then efx announced theirs and I hear how this kit is some kind of cousin to what we should expect from efx...it kind of killed any desire for me to wait any longer, pay someone $500-1000 to build and paint it etc etc. I asked Steve if we could work something out, he understood and offered to have the next buyer pay me since he really didn't have funds himself. All completely understandable, IMO.

Sorry if I stepped on toes or made Steve look bad. I would never do that intentionally and I think his kit will still be the definitive TIE for years to come. For those used to garage kits and building, I've no doubt that it'll be worth the wait.

Yes and kits are being shipped. As fast as initially planned, no. But they are being worked on.

I do know Steve's father was in the hospital for a good six weeks.

My own absence and lack of vigilance has been due to my wife being in the hospital and having to care for my son.

For those that have nothing better to do than pick and peck... Please find another venue.

You're gonna sprain something spinning it that much. :^)

If the kits were done on June 1 as described, none of the events that happened since would have affected distribution. Pictures were shown of multiple kits lined up and seemingly ready to go.

Look, I know stuff happens and I don't want to clutter the thread with this kind of thing since it's such an awesome kit, but please don't gloss over the fact that things were very much misrepresented.

Anyway, I feel like I'm *****ing when I really don't want to, so I'll leave this be. Steve's an asset to the community and from all accounts, a stand up guy. I'm sure he'll come through somehow.

In the meantime, if anyone wants my spot in line for a standard kit plus metal armature, I'll let steve keep the $35 shipping costs so that all you have to do is pay for the kit, $550.

Wanted to let everyone know that I spoke to Steve tonight and he's hard at work getting all the kits finished.

This week he'll be shipping out four tie kits and my replacement parts:)

Just an update, two weeks now and it's obvious Steve never did ship out my missing/damaged items as promised :angry

Called him a few times but he's not returning my calls. So now I have a tie intercepter kit that's incomplete and I can't put together.

He's swamped with an extensive court case right now, so communication is sparse..........your items shipped out at 3pm today priority. He sent you an email and is suprised you did not get it. :)

Hey Dave I picked up one of these kits from somebody who just got it and it`s missing the laser assembly,2 small stars that finish off the outside centre of the wings and the 2 wing mounting points(which I don`t really need). The original buyer never got them and I was wandering if you could help me out getting them from Steve.I`m more than willing to pay for them seeing I was not the original buyer.

Cheers,
Ben

Say any chance you could ask Steve about an update on a couple kits i o
rdered some time ago a SS Buck Rogers Star Figther and a SS Y-Wing.

Mark.

By the way guys, Steve has trained a friend of his to pour his kits when he has to be at work and the guy is doing a jam up job!!! :) He's able to pump out 5 kits per week now and his backlog should be eliminated within 2 weeks now. Several orders are going out on Friday. :) Just thought you guys would like to know.

Eric, we did discuss your order and I could have sworn I sent you a PM about it. Now I've forgotten what Steve told me. I want to say your parts went out, but let me doublecheck with Steve. :)

PS I sent him a message, just awaiting his reply. :)
