Hi there,
I'm working on the 1/1 scale build of "hero" prop of the Star Speeder 3000 from Star Tours ride film, and want to share the progress with you guys.
Aaand I need some constructive advice as this is my first scratch/studio scale build.
I'll just do my best!
First, I've modeled/rendered this image based on the prop as a concept few years ago.
The details of it has some flaws, but the overall proportion is sufficient, thus I'm taking measurement from this 3DCG model for the plan.
I chose styrene board as a main material because it is light, and provides more "personal" experience compared with 3d printing...
But I'm not skillful enough to do accurate cutting, so please bear with the bit dirty in progress photos.
Well, I'm currently blocking out general shape and here is what I have done so far.
