just came across this. Not sure if it's helpful, or if you've seen it before, but I thought I'd share it.

I believe that was at Ogle Design in Letchworth. They also built the Y-Wing and moister evaporators. For Empire they made the Snow Speeders.

I like to see these behind-the-scenes construction photos. Also interesting are the fashions the workers wore back in the day.

What a great project and fun read. Nice to see the speeder done right. :thumbsup

Yeah, it's a great subject matter whose time has come! I really like the process involved in making this, too. There's a whole lot of hand finishing to do to these parts, so I get to play in both analog and digital worlds. I need to figure out how they got the rifle to clip to the side of the 'speeder. That'd be a nice accessory, along with a case of beer in the rear ;)

I'd try use hidden magnets in the rifle stock and side of the speeder to try make the rifle stick.

Gene, you think it's a scale filming model?

Also, this should put to rest the irrelevance for those that insist the Bond Bug was used over a Robin Reliant. It's the same damn car underneath. From the Bond Bug parts catalog/manual:

At this point, Blimpy Boy, I think you should just give in to your feelings and build a full size Landspeeder so you can display the studioscale model like this:

(ILM became a warehouse after SW wrapped up in the early summer of 1977. ILM rehabbed R2-D2 and made a case for him and made a case for the Ywing that went to Alan Ladd Jr, etc. There are shots of all the Deathstar trench tables just piled up. Once they needed more space, for the most part they all got chucked......)
