Studio Scale Defiant (DS9)

It's terrible... Awful... Disgusting... (How I feel)

It's so obvious when you see the work of a master compared to newbies like me. I feel like I did a pretty good job on my scratchbuild / kitbash of the U.S.S. Cavalier (NCC-1967-B) - considering I had no experience, no training, no nothing to go on - and worse yet, no idea what the three-dimensional ship looked like.

Yet every detail of Rel's build speaks of high craftsmanship, an attention to detail, and QUALITY. I wish my model looked half as good. I'm not saying I'm unhappy with my build - far from it; I'm very pleased with what I accomplished, and I've learned a LOT. It's just that Rel has built a model that puts mine to shame.

It's too bad studios are so married to the CGI technology these days: You should be working for them building models. Congrats, Rel. You're a one-of-a-kind inspiration.

I'm starting the fiberglass casting next week.

As my pre-schooler would say - "Perfect!".

I may have missed it, but what's the estimated price for the kit? I fly a defiant in STO and having one sitting next to my desk would be fantastic...
