Studio Scale Base Star

LOL.

You've certainly nailed Mark right Don. You get a file from Mark, It ALWAYS says rev. 12 or better. NOBODY will ever see rev.1 from Mark.

One thing for sure, what you finally see will be nothing short of amazing.

Always has.

Rob.

Rob Rob Rob. I'm glad you like the drawings I did of the Super Swift. Rev 1's are nothing :p It's when you get to rev 56. Now that's something :love

Now get down to the store and send me some gator sausage so I can make red beans and rice the correct way. Ya'l down is Lousiana have the corner on the cajon cookin' supplies B)

Don, more files coming your way after the test fit of the parts cut to compare to the drawings and make, yes, another revision :lol
Then it's all down hill :thumbsup

I want to show off the patterns and the CG model. We worked hard on both. Problem is, giving too much info out before the kits ready. REL, you know better :p

Don, we'll have to plan something. I just don't want to give it all away :cry

What if I told you I only had 2 days to live and wanted to see some pics before I go?.... :confused

That's a hard question to ask. I would say maybe :p

The problem is, I spent a lot of time and money on this project. Don came along and helped me continue and James is helping me make it to the finish line. I spent a year alone tweaking the drawings before laser cutting and vector scribing the many parts used to make the base panels. A total of 7 years in research on this ship. We had to purchase the reject castings of the panels and then ID the parts. I have an obligation to my partners in protecting our investment. As it is, this will be the target of recasting as we all know.
I'm not trying to be a jerk. The patterns are turning out great. I want to show them off. But I don't want to give the secrets away till the kit comes out. I'm just trying to protect my, our investment. I hope you understand. I'm looking at how to photograph the parts so as not to give much if anything away. But I have two partners to run it by first. I will not betray there trust in me

The fun thing is, who ever re casts this is going to have a hell of a time keeping the parts clean and in proportion. Shrinkage is a biotch. And then all the gussets, the two disks, tubing and lathed end caps will be fun to watch them do. They will try to cast most of the acrylic parts and that will be a joke. This particular SS mini was engineered to be self supporting using the acrylic for its strengh. If you substitute the acrylic at any point for ABS or resin you will have no support and the model will sag and fall apart. Trust me, the Apogee guys were smart model makers and used ALL the materials in a unique way. These individuals truely were talented model makers :cheers

With that, I have to tell you, I am working till 10-12 at night on these patterns. I spend the entire day working and these things and searching out missing parts. I will not settle for anything but accurate. Yes, I am anal about this :booty

And yes, I'm a bit crazy :wacko

Thanks for your understanding B)
