Steve, the bridge is looking awesome and the saucer looks great as well. I'm drooling, can't wait to get mine paid for and in the bag!

Thanks guys. A quick update. I got the first saucer section out of the molds and it looks good. Only a few small bubble around the edge of the lower section. Some uneven coloring as a result of the thin gel coat with fiber glass but no flaws and a coat of primer will cover that up quick. All the detail is crisp.

John yes it will help with that a bit and I'm moving on to your saucer section today. ;)

Tomorrow I'll layup the secondary hull, another on Sat and two sets of nacelles. After that a bunch of resin parts. We are moving again.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Steve

Nice!!
I have been without power since sometime Saturday night. I have gotten pretty handy with a chainsaw though with cutting up two of the downed trees. Thanks Irene!
Glad to see that there is some progress to catch up on!

Very interesting. I was surprised how flexible the saucer section looked as you were pulling it out of the mold. I thought it would be more rigid. Not sure if it just looked that way on the video or if it indeed have some flex to it. I know it probably doesn't matter since it will be supported internally but still it surprised me. Looking forward to Part 21!

That's gonna be one huge box to hold those saucer sections for shipping.

Lots of work but looks great.

Thanks John. Will it is always a bit flexible. It would have to be and inch thick to stop it.

Also it's the nature of the shape and size. The hull is open and once the top is glued to the bottom the structure becomes sound.

Ahahahahaha!!!!!

Right, so much better is your model than some hackneyed, third rate copy of a copy, of a copy, of a copy. I know what it's like to build something from scratch and put your heart into it and I think you've done a fine job. I'm really excited about getting mine!

The saucer sections I laid up yesterday came out great!

Both of the saucer sections I primered mine and they are just fine. Moving on...
