Actually filtered and shadowed light. But a little of that too.

I'm still at the nacelles. I could probably work on them for another week is someone didn't stop me.

I will as of next week start taking deposits for anyone interested in a fully built model. Also for kits. But keep in mind they are hull kits only. No lights, no armatures. You the builder make your own although voodoofx.com will have the lights.

Please PM me if you're interested. Hull kits will be 1500 or a little less. I have to lay one up first to see how much time and materials it will take but 1500 is in the ball park. This will include decals, Bussard domes, epoxy glass hull parts, and resin parts.

Steve

Let me know when you have a price for the basic kit. I can do the rest.

Thanks Joe.

I spent the entire day go back over the nacelles. I found a lot of problems and unfinished things I didn't know were there this project sat so long. But by last night late I was ready to sat molding in the morning.

I have been shooting video all along and will post that tomorrow. Main focus today is finish the nacelle molds today.

Tomorrow I'll mold the small stuff and I'm in business. I'll start laying up parts next with two builds right around the corner.

The second model will go to auction not unless someone contacts me direct about it. I won't quote the price here. PM me.

Thanks guys,

Steve

About to pour Ultracal on these and do the next side. This completes all the big molds.

Guys...thanks for all the nice comments. It pleases me most that you are learning things that will ad you in model making.

Steve

well i took something away from this thread.

i have been cutting up foam as you did to make stands/props to hold my stuff while i work on them.

its a hell of a lot easier than using paint tins and bits of wood!

something so simple and obvious has and will save me a lot of time in the future.

so thanks for that :thumbsup

Don't pick at your nacelle Steve, you'll go blind :lol

But seriously, your dedication to making things right is awesome. Hopefully the small parts will go as smoothly as the big ones.

Someone call phasepistol, this should be the subject of the next issue of Nacelles Monthly :)

This has been the highlight of me evenings watching these videos. Steve, could you please be sure to show lots of pictures of how you mold the impulse engine part. I have to do my 1/350 version and want to make sure I do it the best way possible.

What do you plan to use for the diamond pattern fabric on the impulse engine? It looks like fiberglass mat. What size for the 1/2 scale? What would you recommend for 1/350 scale?

Scott

Scott the small stuff is pretty simple. I plan to attach the impulse engines to a base of clay and pour a one piece mold. You'll be able to see the exact edge in the casting to trim to.

As for the cloth on the sides of the impulse engines they did use a fiber glass cloth but because it's virtually unseen in the original effects I doubt I'll add it. It's a guess to the size.

thanks Scott I'm glad your having fun with the videos!

Steve

Congrats on getting all of the big pieces molded. Quite an accomplishment (in such a short period of time).

That 5 gallons almost made it! Back to Burmans tomorrow for one last gallon. I just need about a quart to finish the mold of the impulse engines and we are done with with the molds!

Video will be up soon.
