Video for part 4 will be up later but the pylon molds are done. Two part silicone and UltraCal mother molds. Took all day for these little guys. Nacelles are next!

Don't ask. The video will explain it all. ;)

You're really cranking this thing out fast! Bored? You think we're getting bored? No way, we're all taking notes. Keep the vids coming :thumbsup

If I may ask, what's this intriguing looking Roosky craft in the background? Looks like it's carrying a drone on it's back.

It's just a retired FoxBat RC jet. The drone is the hull to one of my sub kits of long ago a WW2 type 17 German U-boot.

Thanks guys as always I'm so happy to inspire!

Steve

Lou it's crude but once I get the right stock I just cut the openings in the ends slight under sized to make a seal a pour the Alumilite.

Steve

BTW the pylon molds came out perfect and I'm moving on to the nacelles.

That leaves the small stuff onlly. We are getting close.

Video will be up soon. Part 10. Wow time flies!

Steve

Steve, that was great, but how about putting the camera on a circular ring around the workspace, with a motor on it so we could get a slow continuous track around what you're doin'?
And maybe some smoke effects to add depth... and back lighting...

:lol

Just kidding- I know it's not in the budget.;)

Seriously, thanks for the great documentation, from all of us.

So quick-ish question... when you cut the channel/hole/whatever for the aluminium support, is that going to be mostly in one half, or cut both molds so it's in the middle... if the latter, how are you going to make sure the cuts match up (so no leaks) ?

This has been one hell of an education! Don't they offer modelling courses in the local community college? You should teach this to a class! :)

Er... I was meaning the entire build process and all of the information and photos, years of knowledge...

That would be the latter and very carefully! ;) It really isn't that hard. Place the stock where you want it and mark the locations with a sharpie and cut on the inside of the line. done.

If I did teaching I wouldn't be able to build. LOL

Thanks guys.

Always enjoyable watch the videos But caught an interesting screen grab. I caught it right around 5:58.

Thank you Steve for shedding some much needed light on the mysterious world of big model casting.

Its not what you think. Its just patches of shiny primer.

Actually filtered and shadowed light. But a little of that too.

I'm still at the nacelles. I could probably work on them for another week is someone didn't stop me.

I will as of next week start taking deposits for anyone interested in a fully built model. Also for kits. But keep in mind they are hull kits only. No lights, no armatures. You the builder make your own although voodoofx.com will have the lights.

Please PM me if you're interested. Hull kits will be 1500 or a little less. I have to lay one up first to see how much time and materials it will take but 1500 is in the ball park. This will include decals, Bussard domes, epoxy glass hull parts, and resin parts.
