Storptrooper Boots - which ones are the best?

I am looking for recommendations for an accurate pair of stormtrooper boots. I am setting up amour on a mannequin, so I wonÂ’t be trooping in them, I just want them to look as accurate as possible.

I am getting ready to buy these boots from www.caboots.com, but I wasnÂ’t sure if there was a better or different option that I should consider.

The boots are the last piece of the trooper I need, I have all the rest and I have the mannequin on the way, so I hope to get the boots and set up my stormie soon. Any advice would be appreciated.

Caboots have worked well for me. I did buy a cheap pair of 70s boots from a costume shop as back-up; they were only about $26.

The only drawback for Caboots is the smell.

TK-427 put an entire bottle of cologne in his to get rid of the smell and it still didn't do it entirely. :lol

Smell? :confused .....................Did I miss something....what smell with CA boots? I've only got MC boots.

CA boots have all kinds of weird stitching on them and it shows up a lot once the boots are worn and dirtied. The later version MC boots are wide. Great for people with big feet. :)

I love my Cheng boots and they were made about 5 years ago.
If you're going for accuracy then get yourself a pair of black "chelsea boots" or "jodphurs" or "beatle boots".
Then get some leather deglazer and some white leather paint and paint your boots :)

Yeah, they have an overpowering odor (which is hard to describe) when they are fresh out of the box.

Black jodhpur boots painted white is as accuarte as you can possibly get :)

Yep a pair of Chelsea or Jodhspur painted white are the most accurate.

I just have a pair of each of the Mark Cheng boots. I love the comfort and the shape of the first boots but they are glossy, which isnt accurate. The second run were matte finish but the fit and the comfort doesn't compare to the first run. I'd love to have a combination of the two. Chelsea or Jodhspur's sound awesome, I want to try those as well.

Buy a pair of black chelsea boots and colour white just like the originals. Who cares if they look rough, the originals were rough as hell.

They look very good clutch. THESE are the same as I have which are almost identical to the one's you have linked to. They are very comfortable and cheap :p

I tried on a pair of CAboots once. They hurt my feet. I certainly couldn't have spent a day in them.

I use these: http://motorcowboy.zoovy.com/product/STAR1

Yes... They are expensive, but I have not only worn them for several days straight at a time, I spent many hours STANDING "guard" at C3 as well as walking many miles in parades and around cons.

I have warn them for 7 years and they show no sign of wear and they have NEVER hurt my foot.

They are custom made to order.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Again, this is for a static display, I am 5 foot 7 tall and 210 pounds, so I am a little short (and stocky) for a stormtrooper :)

I may get a pair of the Caboots and let them air oput in the garage for a while before I set up my trooper. If I am not happy with them I will try painting a pair of Jodhspur's.

I've got a pair of caboots that I've had a while and never noticed any smell. Or maybe my feet are masking that odor. :lol
