Stormtrooper Vacuumform Mold Help

So I recently ordered an untrimmed trooper kit and I would like to somehow make molds of the armor for personal use. (As I want a couple dif variants) I'm just curious to what would be the best way of going about fabricating these molds. I've seen people start with a clay base and move on to a negative plaster mold to make a rigid copy. I'm just wondering if there is any easy/cheaper way of going about making these molds. Or if I could find a step by step guide to walk me thru the process. Any ideas or help is greatly apreciated!

So what your asking is rather then spending months of research making hundreds of sculpts investing thousands in materials for prototypes. You would like to just make a negative of some one else's hard work and pop out a few duplicates rather then paying the original sculpted the fee for duplicates?

well since you put it that way what you need to do is get a rope and perform a short drop with a sudden stop. Because what you are asking is not only against the rules of this site but it is also a ****ty thing to do to a fellow prop builder.

what you are asking for is a bannable offense on this and many other sites.
you better go back and read forum rules about recasting some one else's work before you get your self banned

but I'm assuming you don't have permission from the maker of the suit of course

I understand the stigma towards prop building, especially trooper armor now. I'm new to this whole scene and seeings thjs just reaffirms that people can sometimes be jerks. So I'll just do my own research rather than asking others for help. I bought an Anovos kit and wanted to make molds for PERSONAL use. Not to make a profit, but to have the ability to make an OT Stromtrooper as well as the shadow trooper I ordered. Sorry if I somehow offended you and your mighty wisdom.

It's Anovos. Seems to be like everyone hates me now. Yay me.

I assume after the delivery of the Anovos suits started, we gonna see that people will sell their kits. Some for making money, other cause they arn´t able to handle the build.

Probably you can get some cheap armour then - and that for less than creating everything you would need for just a few pulls.

That's an interesting thought, I would prefer to make a mold to be able to replace parts that could break over time personally.

Building a vacformer, creating molds, and spending time and plastic to learn how to get GOOD pulls ....... unless you want start to make more than just for your own parts, it´s probably way better/cheaper to only buy the parts you need when you need them.

You may be right actually. I plan on sculpting my own Stormtrooper helmet and making a mold of that for personal and profit hopefully down the road. Thanks for the helpful input!

Im sorry about what I said to you earlier. I hope when you do make your own sculpt and start selling your work no one decides to make a cast of it to reproduce. Also there are a lot of good videos out there on YouTube about vacuume forming

Ya know I really appreciate that. Sorry if there was any misunderstandings. I so see how selling recasts of a product that some one spent tons of time and money would be the jerk thing to do and that is the last thing I wanna do. I just wanna learn the ins-and-outs of constructing quality armor.
