I just got this bucket for $210. It is fiberglass, comes lined with grey foam and green lenses. What do you guys think? You can be honest, I can take it....

It's not bad for $210. The detailing is soft and the ears are moulded into the helmet, but again for $210 not bad.

HE makes these out of fiberglass, he is from spain., i could have bought the same one today on ebay for 150.00. but i think it looks good, id be happy with it....enjoy it..

He means it is a recast/copy of someone elses helmet because of that the details aren't very defined they are soft.
The brow trim and bottom trim are incorrect too.
For the money you paid it's ok i suppose, you could have gotten a decent kit for not much more but then you'd have to build/paint it.

What's a soft recast?

Not too shabby, all that matters is that you like it! :$

I would repaint or even just re-decal it though, esp the tears and the rear.

GZ you still have access to those nice decals?

Other than that, not too bad.

Theres a ton of detail missing in that fiberglass helmet. compared to something like this

I'll see what i can dig up. I find hand painting the decals more rewarding:$

GZ, of course you are right on both points (hand painting and sharpness) but I was just sayin it was nice for what it was, the stickers on it (im assuming they are) just seem off.

Just what catches the eye.

But like I said, if he likes it thats all that matters anyway.

:)

It's a copy of a TE or a Meatsock (which is a copy of a TE anyway) it's not very sharp is it?
The ear caps are really horrible - looks like someone sanded all the detail off and replaced it with perfectly round disc :confused

This is the guy in Spain that recast a SPFX Vader also I think...

He'd recast his own mother if he thought there was money in it:lol:lol

This is GREAT feedback. I am learining alot. To my untrained eye, I am not seeing the missing or softened detail. Can you guys be a bit more specific? I know the ears are molded in (I am okay with that) and I am assuming that the detail you're referring to is around the eyes, nose and mic tips. I personally kinda like the softer look, but I LOVE all your feedback. Keep it coming as I am learning a ton!! I know there was a thread a couple years back about the difference between all the buckets, does anyone have the link? THANK YOU ALL!!!

and that is all that counts! :)

IMO it is a nice helmet for that price!
no need to fret!

please take a look at Jez´s great website to compare for yourself...
http://www.starwarshelmets.com
it´s the most comprehensive collection of (stormtrooper) helmet knowledge around!

read carefully and compare your helmet to other helmets.
it takes some time to get a "feeling" for the accuracy of helmets but if you compare all kinda helmets over and over again, you´ll know what is meant with softer details and all these other weird things we "stormtrooper experts" talk about... :lol
i would never call myself an expert but i´ve learned a lot in the last years and the most important thing is: IT´S GOOD WHEN YOU THINK IT IS GOOD!
:sleep ´nuff said!
