Hi Guys,

I wasn't happy with my comlink used on my TK armour so I decided to make my own. :D

Armed with screen captures, i worked out dimensions and angles to produce this.

Original screen used on the right.

Ive made it from aluminium and bought it to a good polished finish ready for moulding.
That way others can benifit from my hard work.

(just to add, the grip and mic tips are to be added once the casting is removed)

Thanks guys.

Nickel, I should be getting some silicone tomorrow so I can take a cast. (with the o rings removed)

Then I'll post them up for sale, just seeing what you guys thought so far.

(or did you want a polished version)??

will the O rings not be a part of the cast??

wouldnt it be better when you come to mold the comlink to leave the O rings in place that way you will have one complete peice and any possible buyers will not have to worry buying the O rings they will just paint the ones on the resin Cast

just a thought

Doesn't this belong in the Prop Section?

Absolutely cool, but I think I have said that on two or three forums already, so I think you know what I think of it. :thumbsup

I will be putting the o rings on them once there cast, along with the mic mesh etc.

Also a belt fitting kit with screen acurate clip. :D

Wrong section?? :$

Sorry....... please move if needed. :$

Oh, I just thought that since this is not a miniature scaled kit, but an actual sized replica that it would probably belong in the Prop section and would definitely get more exposure there.

You could pm treadwell or one of the other mods to ask them to move it, if they think it would fit better in that section

What if you could combine this with a LED flashlight..
It whould be a fantastic tool with actual beneficials.

LED dont take much bateries. Ask MR. Electronics Hyperdyne Labs.

Interesting. Or perhaps a small sound board for "radio chatter"

I don't think thats a pic of a screen used piece. Looks more like the pic from the SW visual dictionary, which is full of fan made pieces.

IIRC the real deal uses the same radial engine cylinder piece as on the end of Leia's ANH blaster along with a Hovi Mix mic tip for the top.

Some good ideas there. mmmmmmm :unsure

yes the pic is from the star wars visual dictionary. didnt realise they were fan made items.

:cry

Still, i think it does the job.

Hi all

Just to add, while yes that is the picture from the visual dictionary if you frame by frame ANH when the stormtroopers discover R2 and C3P0 in the store room, at the same time Luke and co are in the trash compactor it matches the one C3P0 picks up off the table as he walks out with R2.

I made my own comlink and used the visual dictionary and screen caps for referance.

The one with the engine cylinder is the one Luke holds in the trash compactor.
