Stormtrooper armour

This is probably the only time I have seen a replica where its made me think that it would actually be better to own an accurate replica than something that once originated from an original but is less accurate.

Here's the last one of the pics :)

WOW...

That is probably the best set of armour i have ever seen.I thought your ESB version was amazing, but this is out of this world.Well done mate :)

I too am another looking to purchase trooper armour in the future and its only after looking at armour such as yours that it further pulls me away from buying an FX suit out of desperation :D I want a set of armour so bad,but im prepared to wait a little longer and spend more to get a more accurate version.

hey mad,

great you finally found your way here too.

I find myself coming back to this post time and time again just to drool over those pics of your terrific armor. You are truly an artist and craftsman.

Paul

I've watched you improve your armour time and time again over the years when you showcased it all those years ago on the RPB. It truley is a thing of beauty, you know your stuff buddy. I must come up and visit you to see the vac form setup, like I said a couple of years ago.

Kudos

Tony

Yeah it's been a while now Tony.I still have those old suit's gathering dust in the loft :p In fact I have a few but they are all early test suit's made from 1mm HIPS.I have recently thrown piles of armour away, just test pulls and not worth keeping.I need to really clean up there in the loft, there is hardly any room to move. What with all the junk from the house,a vacformer and a few funny looking moulds ;) I'm hoping to get down to the NEC again this year if you want to meet up :)

you...

threw

away...

dude, if you have ANY pieces that are remotely salvagable REMOTELY. i will pay for shipping...

especially faceplates or the like. :love

seriously, you dont understand... i told you a while back if i could have any fan sculpted suit, it would be made by you...
(never going to prbably happen so... ill take what i can get)
:D

LOL :D

They were only thin test pulls that were cracked or not just right shape wise. There was a couple of old face plates but nothing worth keeping, all damaged :unsure .What I do is after tweaking the moulds,I'll pull thin 1mm HIPS over them and see what they're like. Some I fix up and wear, see what they're like and usually tweak a bit more.Lots of stuff goes on that I don't report ,only when I'm reasonably happy that I'll show something off.

My respect to this work, great craftsmanship . :thumbsup

What´s your next project ?

My next project will be the biker scout.I have already scratch made a helmet, but needs fine tuning to get it more accurate. My stormtrooper project is far from over though.I still have things to do with this suit, more fine tuning :) I am thinking about starting an ROTJ suit too.I'll probably form over one of my suit's and take moulds from them, and make all the neccesary mods to the moulds.Just a thought though at this stage ;)

Can't wait to see more of your Biker Scout helmet project. Very impressive from what I have seen so far.

And nice idea about the RotJ suit. The best way, as you mentioned, would be to do it as they were originally done - made on top of an existing ESB suit to soften the features and incorporate the faults of that single ESB armor used to make the RotJ version, such as the ab-plate botton piece turned upside down... etc. Good luck on that project too.

But haven't you made a RotJ Stormtrooper helmet already or did I just imagine that? Or was it one you had bought? Thought I saw a RotJ version on your picture site.

Overall... :thumbsup

Yes I have already made an ROTJ helmet and suit, but they were far from accurate IMO.My original plan was only to make an ROTJ suit as that was my favourite armour at the time.So far I haven't seen any really good ROTJ replica armour, apart from a few Gino/CRprops suit's that were made quite a few years back, but they had duplicate and scratch made parts.I'd like to have another go later at making a really spot on ROTJ complete suit, with all the correct strapping and wonky helmet.I like all the edging on the main body too, looks like a real 'uniform' if you know what I mean.Just pipe dreams though right now,no free time unfortunately :unsure

Wish I could give away all my free time away to anyone who needs it... though, I unfortunately cannot. Also, it is not voluntary free time anyway, but enough about me.

I wish you good luck on your projects. :thumbsup
