Just whiped up a belt yesterday from odds and ends. It was a good way to unwind for an hour or two.
I have had these parts laying around in a bin for two or 3 years now. So I decided to make up a new belt for my display Vader. He doesn't have hands, or even a helmet and armor yet. Just sort of gets the retired trooping stuff.
The boxes are the real "Hammond" type, and hold my last set of green lights with the black base on them. These were mostly used on the tour belts, and I don't recall seeing them on any film used. The belt and buckle are from an old trooping belt. But a new saber hook is now in place of the old SA one that had been on there.
This belt is fashioned the same way that the film used ones were. It fastens in the front like a normal belt, and not like a normal costume one. This is the first one that I have ever made that I have done just a bit of weathering on. I have always shunned anything other than the spit and polish clean ESB type of Vader, but looking at this, it is kinda growing on me. This does look better in person than in a photograph. Somehow the flash just kills it.
