Steve Neison SS TIE KIT REVIEW WOW!!!!

OK I had to share this, I just received Steve Neison latest Tie kit and I'm totally BLOWN AWAY by the quality that I'm still shaking while I write this.

The casting quality is TOP NOTCH! The best I ever seen, so good it actually looks like a blown up Fine Mold, the engineering that went into the building aspect is incredible and as good as most commercial kits, I can easily build it in a weekend, almost no cleanup and all parts fit perfect.

For those waiting on these trust me you won't regret it, this is the ULTIMATE Tie kit and a must. Steve can be slow at times but will always come threw and the quality speaks for itself, no short cuts on this one, and everything was very well packed.

Wow...

who wants to give up their spot?:lol

Looks great, and thank you for posting photos of the product.

Glad you're enjoying Gerardo!

Why the change in orientation Jason? I thought Steve was scum?

I have never said Steve was scum. I said that every single product I got from Steve directly was absolute crap, and that he was a horrible businessman. Emphasis on WAS. If he's producing kits of that quality now, I will (and just did) give credit where credit is due. If he's shipping on time, I'll be the first to congratulate him.

What's with the negativity towards me, Jamie? That's a bait as far as I can see? I hope I'm wrong!

I must agree..... Steve,... you have outdone yourself my friend. VERY nice indeed! (y)cool:thumbsup

Jason,

I apologise if I came off as sounding like an ass. But I keep reading BS about Steve and it's a bunch of ****.

You've been one of the first (and loudest) to chip away and discredit him in the past few years in any way you could. Am I wrong?

In the past his standards were crap, I'll be the first to say it.
However the man has done his absolute best to turn that around. And I don't think he's been given the chance he deserves to make amends with those whom may have had issues with him in the past, like yourself.

Today industry icons are appreciating the work our small team is putting together (slowly). It would be nice to see an end to the ridiculous comments that are so frequently made. Neison models isn't just about Steve any more, it's a group of individuals working damn hard these days.

Crap product simply won't be tolerated.

The model in the pics looks very good. But a few pics are not going to convince me he has changed. Or his product will be any better.

I was treated poorly enough to guarantee he will never get my business again.

Well I can speak for his new Tie quality, I owned all his Tie Versions 3 of them, this is a totally different model from completely new molds, it doesn't compare to any of his earlier versions both in assembly and finish.

I don't know your history with Steve, but if you don't want to deal with him I highly recommend getting this Kit on the secondary market, it's a must have!

Jamie, water under the bridge, to be honest, emotionally. I tried to bury the hatchet with Steve before and his response was (verbatim) "I'll put the hatchet down, but I'm not about to bury it".... if he's serious about rebuilding the bridge between him and I, I've been waiting on the other bank for a while now.

As far as being vocal against him - I have spoken out when someone asks me too, as some of his customers in the past were too timid to risk his anger, and it wasn't like he was gonna hate me any "more" than he already apparently did, lol. But you see, the situation is still so volatile that i can't say ANYTHING (even positive, like you saw in this thread) without things being perceived incorrectly. And I'm not about to be silent. Not my style.

As I said, I'll be the first to sing the praises if this is the new standard... but like Ate My Lunch, I'd like to see this level of quality apart from a few people. The Interceptors looked killer.

And sorry, but just because he's feeding his product to eFX doesn't make him any better or worse a garage kit seller. "Industry icons" are only icons for the short tenure that their companies stay afloat in this niche genre, let alone this economy. I'm happy that Steve, John C, Isel, and/or whomever are helping Bryan and Barry fast track the TIE, Interceptor, and X1. But at the end of the day, that doesn't mean a thing to joe blow if he gets a crappy casting of the garage kit version of the product, you know?

The shiny kudos and bragging rights of working with an "Industry Icon" ended about halfway through MR's reign, and eFX doesn't seem to be delivering much in the way of shiny baubles... so the jury is still out. Most often, a fan-based operation's rep and livelihood take a hit from being involved with the big guys. But I'm sure Steve knows that and will do fine.

Just saying that invoking that particular dynamic is irrelevant to his quality control and delivery timetables on the GK side of things. And hey - congratulate him for me on being able to bootleg at the same time he's doing the licensed stuff! That's a hard tightrope walk to master and is the best of both worlds! For THAT I'd be envious :)

But would they know they are the recipient of a crappy casting.

Only time will tell how this kit is going to turn out.

I have no interest in getting one, I would rather scratch it. It would be far less stressful.

Casting Kool Shade? I thought it looked awful on the eFX model.
These guys have the money for licenses, but skimp on the Kool Shade?
