Hello everyone,
I just wanted to pass along some pictures of one of my recent projects that I was very proud of. It is a prop made for a LARP that was run at the 2011 Origins Game Fair, called "Aethernauts". It is a steampunk style phonograph with a laser stylus. Sort of a cross between an Edison cylinder playing phonograph and a CD player.
This prop was made on a very small budget and it took about 2-3 weeks to complete. The cylinders are interchangeable and the laser stylus works (as a laser, but not really as a stylus). The cylinders unfortunately do not spin (I didn't have time to work out that system), but it does play music. It has a battery powered speaker set and a small mp3 player in the main body.
You can view more pictures and a detailed build log on my blog at MRXDesigns.com.
