I have no access to any real costume parts or can afford that..
So, I will have to make the costume using things I already have or parts I will need to buy and modify.

Here's what I have made so far:

Man that is CLEAN! So clean it looks vacformed. Nice work dude :)

Also alot of love for the film from over here, totally underrated!

Wow man that look great! I'll be following your stuff,
By the way what kind of medium you used to seal the foam? Also do you have any blue prints of the armor?

I've got one of the stunt foam-rubber Moritas.

I know Troopers (and the straight to vid sequels) get a bad rap, but I like them all. :)

Fantastic build thus far. Kind of inspiring me to try and get working on some foam build. What foam did you use and how did you clean it up so nicely?

Very cool work man looks great! Are you doing the rivet metal strap holders as well?
just need to get some rivets and I am going to add those.
nice! how did you achieve the bevelled edges on the chest pieces?
scissors

eva foam.

Scratch building the "Morita" carbine rifle NCO, Fleet version.
Never did a weapon build before. This is really new to me.
I'm using Foam core I had laying around.

Hope it turns out decent. It really doesn't have to be perfect.
I would like to add some electronics to the gun though.
It would definitely make it more fun.

Still very rough in the early stages but it's really shaping up.
It actually looks like something now.

The Morita is looking awesome! Did you have a 2D reference or did you draft up something for it?

I just scaled up that pic I linked in the first post and printed it out. I used that as the reference . Then using screen caps to see the width. It will be no where near close but I noticed that gun is pretty thick in the movie.

I have a stunt rubber-foam Morita from the movie. Let me know if you need any measurements.

Thanks man

Yes, I used screen shots of the models I believe. I had found on google and someone else had sent me the exact same ones as well. Were you ever able to get those models into pep form?

Doesn't really matter though. The pics were more than enough help.
It took a bit of figuring out to scale them to me and make them proportionate and what not in photoshop.
Then I printed them out.

Always wanted to make this costume. So glad it happening now.
I'll see if I can do a basic explanation at some point.
