Starship project

Since I'm not happy with the other Capt's yacht for some reason, too bulky I don't know. I made a new one, more streamlined.

Richard..

Lovely...just lovely...

And I'm glad to see a fellow Coke drinker. Coke is the fuel by which I operate myself. Most excellent.

Oh yeah, if it weren't for it's sweet caffiene goodness there's no way I could go 3 days without sleep.

Speaking of which, it's done. These were the last thing's to be made, photon launchers and that tractor emitter/sensor thing.

^ FanTASmic.

I've been following this project since January. I can't wait to see the buildups still to come.

You've made such a terrific foundation for some incomparable display pieces... I don't have the words.

Thank you very much.

I decided to cast the observation deck in clear, the window frame will be a PE part.

I'm considering offering a slush casted resin package for $100 cheaper, if anyone is interested let me know. It will still include decals and PE parts, and clear fiberglass nacelle engines.

Here's the pic of the lower resin saucer I just cast.

A lower cost kit would be welcomed. Will the resin hold up considering the size? Remember Unobtainium...

It'll probably have to have some kind of support system for it, the pylons have brass channels in them so they can hold the weight of the nacelles easy enough since they'll be lightweight fiberglass.

Your probably going to spend more than $100 in effort to get resin up to fiberglass standards.

you could make molds for vacuum forming and knock $500 off. (Juzzz keeeding.)

I swear you must be a boatbuilder or something. Your fiberglass work is as good as styrene injection molding. You have me in awe.

Not to mention the resin one weigh's a ton. But it seems to be holding itself up pretty well, no sagging etc.

^ Richard...

I thought you wuz gonna take on an 'easy' project next.. :D

Defiant. Easy? I guess after the Double EE...anything would be easy. Relatively speakin'. ;)

Compared to the EE it's easIER but still not super easy. I have it worked out to be 4 main hull pieces, then with clear and resin detail pieces. I already started on it in between cast's of the EE, it's not so bad.
