A friend of mine who lives in my same city who is wealthier than probably most people actually bought the SCREEN USED Enterprise model from Christies 6-12 months ago, that went for $52,000 and I have not seen it but the way he described it to me, its the one with battle damage, so I think its Search for Spoke Studio Scale screen used model. It came with the christy's COA, and all verifyable.

He wants to sell it, and I dont know the best place to start....he wanted me to ebay it for him, but I think the final value if it sold on ebay at the same price he bought it for, would be like $5200 in fees? so dont really want to go that way.

any suggestions on who wants a $52,000 screen used Enterprise model.:eek

I dont know, I've never seen it. it has battle damage, so I think its the large studio scale ship sold at Christy's auction...does anyone still have the links to what all was sold and for how much?

Buyer's remorse on an impulse buy? Or just plain regret at spending the money?

The large one sold for something like $250,000. The model you're referring to was about 2 feet long, IIRC.

probably a little of both, I hardly know the guy, but he found out that the RPF exists and figures all of us here have the kind of funds he did and will buy his Enterprise now...oh well...

Yeah it's AMT ERTL model it was on display at Comic Con he mostly paid for a paintjob more than the model. It's about 17 inches long or so.

Well there were quite a number of models in the auction that could claim to be "the" Enterprise... the aforementioned AMT kit, the large miniatures of the 1701-A, 1701-C, 1701-D and 1701-E just to name a few.

However if the ship is "battle damaged" and was specifically from "Search for Spock", this specific one comes to mind: the large copy of the 8-foot Refit miniature, which had been distressed to resemble the ship after a series of "auto destruct" explosions
