My latest project is this little device, I've started with the shape/pattern in MDF. I've not decided how to make the writing yet, but this is a test piece so its OK, there is still a few little tweaks to make :) I may even leave the text since I'm pretty sure it's all CG.

I will paint this to see how it looks while the 'page turning device' is cast. I have it molded but don't have any purple pigment yet :)

I was looking at doing one of these myself recently, nice work so far on that one. Do you have any other pics as it may just be me or he camera angle but it looks a tad on the small side?

I looked everywhere for reference pics but they are few and far between from what I saw, but after looking on my DVD's I've found that they are larger in some shots than they appear in other shots. :)

I will get more shots, my hands are bigger than most at around 22cm long :)

I'm about to machine another correcting some damage caused on the first one(wood was damp) and will get more pics up :)

Looking good, what size did you go for? Looks a better size in the second picture, so must have been the first picture made it look smaller :D

Its 145mm x 135mm :) I may change the size depending on how it looks with the turning device.

Seems a reasonable size, as you say it will give you a better idea when you have a page turner with it. What have you decided to use for the turner? Clear resin with a tint? I look forward to seeing the finished article :D:thumbsup

Yeah, gonna borrow some of the wifes clear resin :lol

Just going to tint it then can pour and see how it looks. Just deciding on water colour paints to use, typical that the model shop closes every wednesday and they wonder why they're all closing down.

Sounds good I'll look forward to seeing the results, I know what you mean about the model shops, I'm yet to find a single local shop supplying resin, silicone or styrene, pretty much anything I want lol it all has to be sourced online :(

The one local to me does styrene but call it something else. Took a good 10 mins explaining it when I first went. The also sell small boxes of milliput but you can buy a box twice the size for half the price in the hardware shop next door :) The hardware shop also does the fiberglass resin but the rest comes from ECFibreglass.

Yeah, mostly I've seen it being referred to as 'Plasticard' it's commonly known for model railway scratch building over here. :D
