Stargate SG-1 Jaffa Light Staff restorations.

Hello RPFers!
Our newest project (don't worry, we are still actively making the E-11s) is the restoration and replication of several screen used props from various Stargate series supplied by our friend stefanchik. This particular piece I am giving a single thread to just due to the extnsive amount of restoration it requires.

Both of these needed restorations prior to shipment, but during shipment both of these were damaged severely, quite a heart break for all, most of all I'm sure for Stefan.

Luckily all of the wiring and glass appears to be intact which will make things a bit easier, and having these in pieces will make it easier to see how they were constructed which will make replicas easier to get perfectly.

I will be posting our progress of restoration for these here, and we are excited to bring these back to new life!

Seeing those Ma'Tok in such condition is such a heartbreaking thing. Sometimes shippers can be such a pain in the nikta...

It is incredibly sad, but we are doing everything we can to fix them up!

Here are all the pieces laid out to get a better view of the damages.

After a bit of work, getting several of the pieces together. They will need additional work once everything is together, but it is a good start!

Story on the lights,
Bought them from VIP for a thousand dollars
One was excellent condition apart from a clean break at the bottom of the handle,
Other was basically held together with cellotape
Put them both in a box with loads of other stuff and sent them to Ron,
And when he opens the box, Bingo .. someone's probably jumped on the box multiple times and smashed them to bits
... Didnt insure it as then Ron would have had to pay hundreds in import taxes and fees etc just to recieve it
... kinda thr risk you take with shipping sometimes :-(
Here are the original pics from VIP's auction

Wasn't going to go back to work until Monday, but I had some free time tonight, and I swapped out the old switch with a nice new flip switch that is easier to use. Also finished attaching the bottom part of the staff section.

This is STUNNING stuff Ron :)
- you leave me speachless :)
- They will soon be good enough to mold and roll out as working replica's for the community to enjoy

wow, reli badly damaged, you have a lot of work ahead... take your time im sure it will look good after

And the Goa'uld said "Let there be light!"

Reworked the wiring, switch, and hunted down the right bulbs for this. Some solder, hot glue, and electrical tape later we have a functional light staff. Now to just make it pretty!

I still SMILE every time I see this pic and see my baby turned on and all lit up :)
--- EXCELLENT work on this restoration :)

Wow awsome work man that looks like a Nice restoration
Stefanchik you must been heartbroken when you saw it broken like that
What is the State of the other props that were in the box?

Everything aside from these 2 props were in great condition. So we at least had that!

The main body of this staff was completely shattered. I've assembled about 20 of the pieces together, but still more to go. The area on the right was in the most pieces of any other part, and the gold/brass section will need to have the paint stripped, gaps filled and sanded, and repainted with the same paint.
