The great part about the real ones, they used gun oil on the slide, it even smelled like a real gun! I just didn't have $3000 to buy one! I might even have some better pics too if I dig around, let me know if you need some?

I can only answer for myself on this one - for the love of the Prop. Best example I can think of off the top of my head is the Obi ANH saber, look how many years it has taken to find all the correct parts. Also, look how many times the die hard fans have changed their personal saber for better weathering, more accurate part, etc......

I happen to love this prop and I know there are screen used pieces out there, we just have to find who has them.

Sure, you could get a cast from a screen used item. But the thing with screenused props is that most of them only need to look good from a distance, unless its a hero prop. Some want it to be looking Good...Blinking lights/sounds...Metal.. Being straight if its a gun instead of being wonky as some Rubber stunt guns are. We want the "real" thing from just that movie-universe.

I would take a cast of original over a replica Any day but sometimes a cast from a screen used is not available. For example this blaster there hasn't been anything offered I would have even taken a replica of this gun any day..
