I have some minor things to adjust, and it needs a layer of Matt Clear, but its pretty much done.

One of the 4 GLiders was molded for some reason for SG1.

The only casting we know that was made from that mold, was this ship. I was hired to finish it for a client. Im also tasked to eventually restore the Original prop that was actually used to make this mold. It's on pretty bad shape.

I remember you telling me about this.

You're right the movie design is so much better tham the TV series.

    Great work!

I love the movie design, but I wouldn't say it's 'better' just different. The TV series one had an actual canopy. Sure, the Jaffa are wearing helmets, but they'd be buffeted around by wind during flight. In that respect it's more realistic, especially considering the Death Gliders in the TV series were also space fighters.

Seriously, your point is well made, but, and its my opinion, I didn't like the look of the SG1 Glider. The Movie one was more curvy, and the guns on the TV one were too small.

However, I never viewed them as mutually exclusive, in fact, I believe the MOVIE one was in an early episode of SG1. So I just took it as different models of the same type of vehicle.

The Movie one being the CLASSIC EXOTIC ROADSTER, and the TV one being the
    FORD SUV.

I wouldn't argue with that. The movie ones seemed more about awing the ignorant savages with the flying chariot, while the TV show one was more practical than anything.

There's no doubt the movie version is just ****ing gorgeous though.

    Thank Bro!
    Appreciate that!

Dont laugh..but...Im SO tempted to do a TRICKED out cockpit, and use a Horizon 1/5 Scale Model, and Mold it with SHRINK Silicone so its closer to 1/6 Scale which is really the scale of the Glider. The actual Prop pilots a re a tad BIG. In the Film, the Pilot looks smaller than the cockpit is on the prop.

So...I thought it would be cool, to use a DRAGON Body and make a full sized Pilot with cool looking controls and seat.

Then I sit think...if only I had the time!

I'm hoping to write up an article on the entire restoration.

The glider in the back, is all that remains of one of the 4 originals (shown below) from the film.
It's only the upper half, and missing alot of detail.

    ...and then, there were two.

    Why all the gliders?

The one on the right, was molded for SG1, but never used. It was molded off of one of the movie gliders (the one in the middle) before it was destroyed from neglect.

The owner of it, having seen some of my collection on the web, approached me and asked if it could be finished. I agreed to do so, and for my effort, I became the owner of what was left of the movie glider with the intention of it's restoration.

I have a special attachment to it, as it is my sister in the shot from production you have seen above. She is standing in front of four gliders from the film on location in Yuma, Arizona, our home town.

To restore the movie glider to it's former glory, it became clear a mold of the SG1 would need to be done to replace the lower half, and detail on the top.

There was an SG1 Mold, however, the upper was unusable, having shrunk too much over the years, as GI1000 silcone does not last long over time. I might use the lower, as I still have it, I have not decided yet. It's in rough shape as well.

In for a penny, in for a pound, I decided the best way to do everything would be to make a fresh mold. To finance the project, a second glider was made and sold to a very private collector.

When the Movie Glider is restored, It will be photographed individually, and inserted via photoshop into this picture so that I will have a picture of all three.
Even though in reality, they were never actually physically together.

    Here is the latest update.
