Star Wars Super Collectors - Telegraph UK article

I was expecting Obi Wan's saber to be listed as a holy grail item... guess not!

If I was working on live action movies, instead of CG animated, I wouldn't leave a movie set without trying to get a prop or two... Especially if working in the prop department.

Would be great to own something authentic, but then again would simply miss the fun in putting things together and finding out about what those parts once actually belong to. More than happy with what I have its been a labour of love so far.

For me to own a genuine and iconic screen used item is the top. But only an iconic recogizable item, not just some Ewok fur, or Death Star panel. I mean a studio scale, a helmet, a prop. Though these are way out of my budget.

So the Vader ESB lightsaber that we've all been using for reference is now gone... wow

I sincerely hate people that have so much money and can get away with these kind of actions in stead of letting all of us enjoy these real used props :angry

Cool story! I guess I'm the opposite though. Now I have nowhere near the money I'd need for some of the real props, but having said that I don't think I'd really want one. I like building replicas and often I want an in-universe version of the weapon. For example, I'm much happier with my Endor rifle I'm building, than a cast version used in the movie because it looks better.

I can see that! There are super collectors out there that just a handful of people know of, owning stuff that just a few people have seen personally and that won"t see the light of day as long as those collectors live. Sad,because the pieces they own are so incredibly obscure and irreplaceable, parts of movie history. And the worst is, if you get to see their collection you cant you're forbidden to do so and nobody would believe you anyways :lol

Ha indeed I always planned to go see that saber myself in the Casino in Grantville, Pennsylvania when visiting the States ... now there's no need ... damn filthy rich pseudo collectors :wacko
