Star Wars Speederbike colors???

I am building the Bandai 1/12 Speederbike, but I have doubts about the colors to use, especially the color of the engine parts. The manual indicates the color steel, but it seems to me that this color is totally wrong, but what color do you think is correct?

Thanks

Years ago when I built one I painted the engine parts flat black, gave it some brown washes and steel drybrushing, then rubbed graphite into it. I thought it turned out pretty darn good. No pics, sadly - that was a long time ago, and I don't have it anymore.

Personally, I would do a black, and then the Tamiya Gun Metal Weathering powder and Silver powders to highlight it and give it that metallic sheen

The other alternative is use a Gun Metal color and black/brown washes to darken a bit

It is what I am planning

Here is an example of the black base with Tamiya gun metal weathering powder. Of course it is a lot smaller than 1/12, but could still work
