Star Wars sculptor Liz Moore - film footage found

Thanks so much Brian, her work lives on through the Star Wars films. What a shame with her untimely passing. She is a lovely sight indeed.

She also did the Star Child from 2001.

Really nice Beatles sculptures. Kind of exaggerated forms without being caricatures, and they really live.

As to her own looks, bring back 60s hair for all chicks now. lol...

Also, she didn't just sculpt Threepio; she's responsible for the final design. She sculpted about ten heads and Lucas picked his favourite.

Just to add that Brian Muir did add some detail to her design in certain places, and also sharpened up the entire sculpture to make it look more like metal. So he did have some creative contribution to the final design as well.

Brian-
I've wondered for years if there's anything else out there on her work... any leads, ideas? I don't know how much of her personal or pro work may have been shot for her portfolio or other? Got to be something, hopefully...

Thanks for sharing this.

I share the desire to see more of her work. This may sound like overblown praise, but I was showing my GF the Beatles heads and she agreed that there is something Michelangelesque about the exaggerated, emphatic features. With Michelangelo you get massively deep eye sockets, a sense of the entire eyeball sitting in the head, every bulbous mass of bone brought to the fore, something one doesn't really see in reality, but it invests a sculpture like his 'Moses' (see pic.) with incredible power and life. Her Ringo has a similar quality. I really want to see the George, and the completed John, but I've searched the net in vain... though I did find this:

Brian, thank you. Great to see the StarChild and even the 3PO again out of their usual contexts. I have a feeling that we missed out on an incredible body of work with her passing... a cool person, too?
