Star Wars: Rodian costume - create or buy latex mask?

Hi there,

I'm planning a new Star Wars costume - Senator Onaconda Farr. Unfortunately I lost the last eBay auction and Greedo latex-masks are barely rare, everything else is sold out..

Now I got two options: wait for another one (a long time ago, in galaxy.. :)) or buy some cast, clay and latex and try it on my own. With no experience in that.

What's your advice, fellows?

Or.. is there somebody out there, who sells a Greedo mask from Don Post, Rubie's etc.? My only hope - anybody? :rolleyes :angel

I don't know how good they are but if you do a search for Greedo masks you'll find that the Halloween costume shops carry a Greedo mask for around $30. However, taking a closer look at the listings it seems that this mask (Rubies I think) is discontinued so it may be a bit hard to find one.

On the other hand, I did stumble on this site http://www.shamanmade.com/costumes.html that offers Greedo masks at 3 different prices/quality levels. Prices start at $200 for a raw, unassembled mask and goes to $375 assembled and painted. He also offer hands at varying levels to go with the mask as well. I've never dealt with this person before so I have no idea of how good his stuff is and how reliable he is either, hopefully he's known here and has a good rep.

Thanks ;)

Yay, I found this page during my research, too. But - and you will agree - there IS a small difference between 30-40 and 300 bucks :)

Before I invest triple the price of the whole costume into the mask, I should better wait, hope and see, if anybody else could help ;)

Just found this pretty old topic here.. Jeez, that´s long ago.

The end of the story: I fortunately found a seller in the 501st boards, completed the (very uncomfortable) costume and became first Onaconda in the Rebel Legion. Yeeey.
