Star Wars Ep IV Question

I don't know if this has been posted before, but here goes:

In episode IV, Han and Luke steal two Stormtrooper uniforms right? They did it inside the Millennium Falcon. That means they left their clothes, or at least boots in the MF.

How come after the garbage pit scene, they're wearing their original costumes (or at least their boots)? How the heck did they get them back when they haven't even reached their ship yet?

I always assumed they had their clothes on underneath, there is leeway inside and people wear clothes under normal battle and medieval armour. Shoes are a different story though.

Now this begs another question... Why the heck did they change into their original clothes??? Wouldn't it have been better to just wear the Stormtrooper uniforms??!

Leia and Chewey would still stick out like a sore thumb, but at least Luke and Han would've had a chance to just trick the other staff that they were just "escorting" the prisoners, right?

Inside the backpacks?

More to the point what happened to the two naked stormtroopers?

They didn't kill them or there would be blast marks on the armour, so they must have stunned them, and presumably taken them with them to the rebel base.

ya, that was a blooper. their original foot wear should have been on the Falcon and Han and Luke should've been shown still wearing stormtrooper boots when running back to the falcon.

Comic Book Guy Voice: (pushes up glasses) Ahem, well, you see, the Empire equips all Stormtroopers with miniaturization pouches, a technology that allows each Stormtrooper to be able to shrink and carry several days' worth of rations and gear in the field. Han and Luke simply utilized this common technology (similar to that used by characters in role playing and video games who need to hold onto several dozen different weapons at any given time) to store their entire wardrobe on the troopers' belts. And that's why they continued to wear the belts after they escaped the trash compartment: the armor was still in them, waiting in its shrunken state to be used again when need be.

Or it's just a goof.

The boots have long bugged me too but if you are inclined to, you could come up with a retconned explanation:

Luke's boots are similar enough to dirty Stormtrooper boots that you can't really see the difference unless you are up close. The leg wrappings go over them.
Han's boots are the same type as Imperial officer's boots, so he could have snatched a pair from a nearby closet.

Han blasted the two troopers either in neck or some other vulnerable spot, their boots were probably in Chewie's shoulder bag (or at least one pair) and the Imperials were 'alerted' to let Luke, Han, Leia and Chewie make their escape, which explains what happened to the four Imperials (two scanner techs and two troopers) that were on the Falcon. They were removed by the time our heroes got back to Falcon.

Come on! You know R2-D2 had them inside his trash can stash compartment. Think of him as bender from futurama. He just dropped them off for han & Luke. Mystery solved, you may go about your scheduled day now.

Technically, we don't know what Han's blaster sounds like on "stun." It could very well have made the same sound as the regular blaster, which is what the shots sound like.

They had been swimming in filth.

I bet Leia and Chewie stank the most, though, they didn't get to change! Leia's in the same clothes all the way through the Yavin battle.
"Your highness, there's a refresher right over there..."
"I have responsibilities, commander!"
"....yeah, but..... never mind."

Couple thoughts... The Stormtrooper outfit should be as watertight as it is airtight, and those can function perfectly well in hard vacuum. I also don't think they're tight-tight all the time, but something like the self-adjusting jacket in Back to the Future II -- a Stormtrooper pulls on a loose-fitting coverall , hits the 'seal' button, and it tightens up to fit snug all over. If you're wearing clothes, they'd get smushed tight against you, too. The boots, though, are still another matter. Luke was small -- he might have pulled on the Stormtrooper boots over his own. And Han might have had Chewie carry his in his satchel.

I imagine everyone took quick showers and fed their clothes through the auto-valet aboard the Falcon whilst en route.

I also don't think the shots we heard aboard the Falcon were Our Heroes. I figure the Stormtroopers got off a couple surprised shots before Chewie and/or Obi-Wan took them out.

GL really missed an opportunity with the SE. He could have had an adorable flying droid whizz through the corridors of the Death Star to deliver the heroes their boots. It would've been a laff riot.

^the way things are going, I would not be surprised in the least if sometime within the next ten to twenty years if Star Wars classic does not get the reboot treatment.

That's what I always assumed. The question is what did they do with the Stormtroopers after they escaped? Chuck them out the airlock?

Good point. What did happen to the two stormtroopers after our heroes escaped from the Death Star?

They were removed by the guards, along with the scanning crew. By this time, the Imperials were alerted about the rebels racing around, so they just had to wait for them to show up.
