It might be a bit too early to ask, but does anyone know if there are decent photos available for the USS Kelvin uniforms from ST XI? I loved the retro feel of the costumes and I’m dying to get a closer look at the details (colors, footwear, insignia, etc.).

Not to hijack but I'd really be interested in the cadet unform myself.

Heck, I'm loving the main uniforms. Great nod to the original series, but with more pop. Love the black undershirts and the small Starfleet insignias patterned on the shirt. How'd they do that, I wonder. Screen overlay or something?

Hijack away - those uniforms were even nicer. I liked the "instructor grays" as well. It would be great to have reference shots of those too.

speaking of trek,,,great article in Make up magazine about the prosthetic appliances done for the romulans and all the vulcan pointy ears. They used silicone instead of the usual foam latex. I wondered how they made them able to let light pass through them. BUT...when they took off the makeup it destroyed the appliance and they would have to make a new one each time!!! Imagine!!!

check it out here:

One of the advantages of silicone over foam rubber is that it can be translucent, allowing light to pass through and bounce around, enabling more flesh-like results.

I thought the makeup in Star Trek was great. Probably some of the most realistic work I've seen on Trek in a while. Obviously that change from latex to silicone must have made a big difference. It was nice having non-ridgehead Romulans again too.

personally, i loved the.....
SPOILER ALERT!!

Admirals uniform Admiral Pike was wearing in the end... GREAT nod to the TMP admiral uniform, and an all around awesome looking design.

I thought the Kelvin uniforms were great. Somewhat TNG-like, but more subdued and fit the slightly grittier feel of the Kelvin-era perfectly. I wish they were shown off a little better in the film.

Actually, I loved all of the costumes in the film, from the standard duty uniforms, to the gray dress uniforms, to Pike's admiral uniform, they were all great.

I really liked that one too, UFO!

I wonder if they will transition into that style for everyone in a potential sequel...

"Instructor Greys" had a great look, also. :thumbsup

Kelvin uniform... high collar, yoke across shoulders going into stripe down the arms. Rank stripes at wrists. Appears to be zipper down the front. Shirt tucked into pants, with belt (most crew have communicators in holsters on the belt, but Captain Robeau does not as he walks to the shuttle). Starfleet delta badge is just an outline, and appears to be missing from some uniforms.

The cadet uniforms worn in the Kobayashi Maru test, similarly have high collars, a yoke across the shoulders, and stripes down the arms. But these have rubbed cuffs and no rank.

Yea, i'm liking the kelvin uniform more and more, I also like the uni that Uhura's wearing in the kobiashi scene

Actually it reminds me of the "Future" Starfleet uniform seen in "All Good Things", "The Visitor" and "Endgame"...
