Has anyone found any quotes from Corgi/Master Replicas in regards to the nozzle/beam emitter, "radiator" fins and control knob all being gray instead of silver (or whatever metallic color they actually were in the film)? :confused

I'm hoping they're only gray because they were in such a hurry to get a prototype ready for Toy Fair, that they didn't get to paint it completely. Because if they seriously expect me to believe those parts were that dull, flat gray in the movies, they've got another think coming! :rolleyes

And shouldn't the nozzle/beam emitter be made of metal, anyway? I would've thought that part, at the very least, would be silver due to it being metal. :confused

But then again, maybe the lighting on those new pictures just royally sucks. The Tricorder is certainly washed out like crazy.

I was wondering about that myself. I'm guessing the Phaser is a prototype and that the gray plastic is standing in for what will be metal on the final prop. One can only hope.

As to the other pieces they were showing, who knows. They also showed the studio scale USS Enterprise. I don't know if those are still available, going to be run again, or they were just proud of them. :lol

Why did MR display the TOS and TNG phasers?
To rub it in...

"Look at these lovely, sold out items that you want and can't have (at least not for anything like a reasonable price!) Mwa ha hahahahaha!" :rolleyes
The assault phaser looks pretty damn good, but the metal part dont look metal, wonder why that is?
You posted that right as I was typing my mention of it, as well! :lol

I'm not sure if the authentic Assault Phaser props ever had metal parts. The hero closeup Assassin phaser in Trek 6 does seem to have a metal emitter at least. Trek 5 phasers may well be all resin.

Here's a phaser being shown off on one of the DVDs

I'm still wondering how much of the tric is going to be metal? I've seen that in the description for a while now and am just wondering how sturdy the thing will be. Also still wondering about price... anybody heard?

yeah, can;t wait but the Mr display at the toyfare seemed a little shabby...The had ripped piece of papers stating that all the replicas "needed licensor approval" and featured way more Corgi items than their usual line....Mr seems to be going downhill....

The Mark X is my fav. tricorder, how could you not like the sleek design and all the LED's

"The prequel trilogy are my favorite Star Wars films, how could you not like the sleek designs and all the flashy effects?" :lol

Seriously, though, I simply do not like it. The VI and VII started a new classic look and had just enough flashy stuff to make it appear functional from an in-universe standpoint. The Mark X is just a box covered with flashing lights. The thing just screams "scratch built from sheet styrene" to me and it doesn't have the same appeal in my eyes.

The 'always on' emergency computer dump button bugs me as well.

That Assault Phaser is pure sex, on the other hand. :love
