Star Trek TNG NCC-1701-D 30th Anniversary Tribute

I did this quick animation for Star Trek TNG's 30th anniversary. While this is CG, I referenced the actual physical models of the D closely and I did my very best to remain faithful to the way they were painted, and also how they were lit on the motion control stage. I wanted to capture that "look" you get from physical miniatures. Anyway, here's hoping it brings back some nostalgia.

Vimeo compresses the detail in the video ever so slightly, so I have also supplied full res stills. Click each one to view full size.

Wow! Awesome work! You really nailed it!

I remember when TNG came out and hating the look of the ship.

And then TNG became my favorite Trek and the D one of my favorite ships.

Thanks for sharing.
