I have been working on this the last couple days.....here are a few pix so far!! I have never really been into the Motion Picture but this is kind of cool and will look nice with my Phaser!!:eek

I remember going the see this at the cinema when it first came out wondering how they would 'morph' the old communicator and phaser for the movie. I was 14 ish at the time and tried over and over agian to make one of these but never had ( nor still have) the skills to do it. Looking good.

I used to build alot of personal props out of wood years ago. I had me a 9" B&D bandsaw that made it easy to make the core shapes. After many years of use it finally bit the dust. It's been 6-7 years ago and I haven't made anything out of wood since but you and your excellent work here has convinced me to pick another one up.

It looks like the band might be made of metal in the cap. It might make it easier to clamp on, like an adjustable ring.

The Heroes had metal bands but the mids which is what mine will represent had resin bands!...............may try a hero at some point???/
