I believe that Data will not exists. He will be a mental crutch that Picard leans upon when needing guidance.
TNG got there first with "All Good Things..." in 2395. I get the feeling this was early in that uniform's use, as Admiral Riker still had the previous style flag uniform:

Even though it came out later, in-universe Voyager is next in 2404:

And DS9's outing was in 2422:

Or it was cheaper for productionYes, but several years later, after the Enterprise-D had been destroyed, Deep Space Nine used the same uniforms and badge for its jump ahead, and then a few years later still Voyager did the same. Many things are mutable -- it seems those uniforms and that badge coming into use around 2400 is more of an inevitability.![]()

Do you happen to know where I could find them?TrekMovie's breakdown is close but not exact. Others have gone into detail elsewhere.
The most in-depth, non-circular/baselessly-speculating stuff I've seen so far has been in this thread, but there's been no new discussion anywhere that I've seen since July.
Here, learn a thing or two:
Or if you're a bit lazy and want a shorter version:
I want to know, but holy crap that's like an hour and a half dissertation on it!
BTW, Data's aging, is easily explained by saying that he upgraded himself to be more human, which he was already wanting to do on TNG. That kind of makes sense. The other stuff, not so much.

Well, much of the discussion in the thread on TrekBBS has gone in circles about whether that's a cadet uniform or serving officer. Despite the rank pips on the examples seen. Or whether people saw First Contact style uniforms in one of the long shots, or whether they're Command division uniforms with the red desaturated to gray by lightening the contrast to see past the shadow in the shot.Don’t mince words. Say what’s on your mind!
The source of the TNG uniforms being used in ST: Picard, perhaps?
