Star Trek: Picard

TNG got there first with "All Good Things..." in 2395. I get the feeling this was early in that uniform's use, as Admiral Riker still had the previous style flag uniform:

Even though it came out later, in-universe Voyager is next in 2404:

And DS9's outing was in 2422:

Oh those uniforms. See I would have thought that these were possible futures. Not things set in stone. The future that Picard visits is considered an anti-time future. According to Michael and Denise Okuda, it's an alternate quantum reality.

Yes, but several years later, after the Enterprise-D had been destroyed, Deep Space Nine used the same uniforms and badge for its jump ahead, and then a few years later still Voyager did the same. Many things are mutable -- it seems those uniforms and that badge coming into use around 2400 is more of an inevitability. :p

Or it was cheaper for production ;)

I was just thinking. Maybe the designer of the All Good Things uniform was Romulan and he died when planet blew up

Personally I really dig the new uniforms. They give me a Star Trek Online vibe.

Here, learn a thing or two:

Or if you're a bit lazy and want a shorter version:

I want to know, but holy crap that's like an hour and a half dissertation on it! ;)

BTW, Data's aging, is easily explained by saying that he upgraded himself to be more human, which he was already wanting to do on TNG. That kind of makes sense. The other stuff, not so much.

The obvious in-universe explanation is that Mr. Data’s “I can serve as a flotation device” mode is currently stuck in the “on” position.

Data's ageing upgrade would make sense if it is Data and he's alive in Picard's present day setting.
The TNG uniforms, the scene in the Vineyard, the card game scene imply these are dreams, so Brent's ageing and their attempt to use VFX to make him younger don't quite fit with your hypothesis that Data is intentionally ageing.

Not exactly, the "short" version is just cut/paste from the longer video ;)

Here was the phone conversation.

Patrick: Good morning, Brent. If you’re home, please pick up.

Brent: Good morning Sir Patrick, what’s shaking, baby?

Patrick: I have good news. You don’t have to film season three of Fresh Hell. CBS has green lit my new series and I have talked them into bringing Data back as well.

Brent: Awesome sauce! Let the Data money start rolling in again.

Patrick: Um, yea, about that. This isn’t the Paramount that you remember. We don’t quite have the same budget as we did on TNG.

Brent: What is the budget?

Patrick: Let’s just say that maybe you should stop at the Halloween store and pick up a wig and TNG uniform on the way to the studio.

Brent: (Long pause). Whatever, I was only planning on going to Barnes and Noble today anyway and read the new Star Wars magazines for free.

Patrick: Splendid, see you in an hour.

Don’t mince words. Say what’s on your mind!
Well, much of the discussion in the thread on TrekBBS has gone in circles about whether that's a cadet uniform or serving officer. Despite the rank pips on the examples seen. Or whether people saw First Contact style uniforms in one of the long shots, or whether they're Command division uniforms with the red desaturated to gray by lightening the contrast to see past the shadow in the shot.
